O Guia Clima é um sistema de monitoramento agroclimático que disponibiliza, em tempo real, dados sobre as condições meteorológicas (temperatura, umidade do ar, etc), informações (médias, normais, etc) e alertas (baixa umidade do ar, ventos fortes, geadas, etc).Atualmente, o Guia Clima opera com quatro estações meteorológicas: Dourados(2), Rio Brilhante e Ivinhema. No entanto, há previsão de instalação de novas estações em outros locais de Mato Grosso do Sul.
O Guia Clima apresenta estatísticas dos principais elementos meteorológicos das estações, considerando períodos mensais. Essas estatísticas fornecem uma visão panorâmica do comportamento do clima e podem ser utilizadas como parâmetros para dimensionamento de projetos e para subsidiar a tomada de decisões.
O Balanço hídrico deste aplicativo é do tipo sequencial diário e é calculado com base em curvas de retenção do solo, considerando a Capacidade Total de Água no Solo da camada 0 a 1,0 m. Considera também que o solo estava com armazenamento hídrico máximo no dia anterior ao início do cálculo. O cálculo é realizado para um período de 90 dias e apresenta os resultados dos últimos sete dias.
