GEM International Residential School (GIRS) is spread among on 20 acres of land in pleasant and calm surroundings. At a short distance of 9.5 Kms from GIRS campus is Makalidurga which has a fort on top, at the height of 1,350mts. The mountains are full with date plants, lemon grass, many more plants and small boulders, at base of the hillock there is a huge lakes, which spread more than 6km radius. The campus is with close landmark to Nandi hills which has a calm and healthy atmosphere and is just 65 kms away from hustle and bustle of the IT city Bangalore with various attractive amenities.GIRS was started in year 2005, a residential school with state-of-the-art technology and time tested ethical values of out rich culture. It is at par with any reputed residential school of today and strives to perfect its aims and aspirations much beyond the vision of many institutions.
GIRS owes its existence to the vision and foresight of a few patrons who are successful in their own chosen fields of profession not only because of their knowledge and skill but also due to their approach and dedication to help the browbeaten and providing value based education to any deserving personage.

As the chairman, I personally believe that GEM INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL is fortunate to set the real purpose of education in its true sense. GIRS inculcates in young minds a strong sense of values and discipline, Simultaneously emphasizes on team skills, leadership qualities and communication skills which prepare students to function effectively in rapid changing world. Being a part of GEM PARIVAAR, they will learn to honour the diversity of their community, develop global knowledge with a mature mind
