Description

NOTE: EEG101 requires the use of a Muse brain sensing headband

EEG 101 teaches users the basics of electroencephalography (EEG) while displaying their own brain data in real time. The app illustrates with real-time visualisations topics such as the neural basis of the EEG signal, how EEG devices work, and how signals are processed into meaningful data. Get a taste of 'doing neuroscience' -- taking a look at some murky brain data and trying to glean something meaningful.

EEG 101 is a completely free and open source app, developed as part of the NeuroTechX initiative. Currently only available for Android devices.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Fantastic, this should be included with the muse by default.
1 ★Would like to know when non muse version is available
5 ★Great & informative, thanks! Am I suppose to get a lot of noise in the left electrodes? The right electrodes show a pretty stable line, the left are a mess. Is this a problem in my device?
5 ★On-target and extremely well done - lucid, interactive, and edifying. Can't wait to learn more as content is added - version 1.5 is the fascinating first chapter in what I hope will be a large book.
5 ★1) Muse headband 2 connects effortlessly. 2) Perfectly picks up eeg. Responds to eye blinks. 3) I could even detect alpha after meditation . 4) next step could be biofeedback game like move a ball on screen or 5) take an average of 5 epochs and filter out the alpha part and show a colored spot on screen (maybe) which can change to more blue or some color based on increase in alpha. I am not a developer. Will readup on this project. Would be fun to contribute in anyway. Thanks
3 ★Connected to muse with Samsung note 3 well. However more explanation about what different signals mean would be useful. This is a very basic tutorial that does show your own signals but at this point not much more than a Wikipedia entry. Hopefully will be more over time.
5 ★Great app to get started with EEG signals! It's a compact and short format of the basics you need to know to get started with EEG. It's a LIVE & Interactive tutorial!!! You are learning EEG with your own brain! (with the Muse headset)
5 ★An introduction on how EEG works
5 ★Great app. Can't wait for next version
5 ★Great intro to neuroscience
5 ★This app is a great introduction to EEG and brain computer interfaces, and can be used with the Muse brain sensing headband as a teaching and learning tool in classrooms, demonstrations, hackathons, and more. It explains EEG brain signals in a clear and comprehensible way, with real and interactive examples. Highly recommend if you want to learn more about the brain, and especially if you have a Muse headband.
5 ★Good
