5 ★Entertaining, no adds or purchases. Requires brain power. Some puzzles are a little.... counter intuitive due to the fact that the game ends when you get the pieces to where the game wants them, not necessarily where they would be a better position for your pieces. So it may take a min or so to play around and eventually make an unsatisfactory trade or movement. The point of the puzzles isn't checkmate, but to constantly pursue a check.
5 ★Good for analysis and working out the best move to make, however it does accept the best alternative moves. Forces you to think rather than suggest what to look for, however it will hint which piece to move after one attempt. It rates each puzzle with points + or -- depending on difficulty or attempts made. It will also allow you to play on from the position of the board in play mode as white or black, which is accessed from analysis mode. Overall a very useful app. And quite addictive.
5 ★This is the BEST CHESS TACTICS app! Why: 1) The ability to analyze a tactic and try any combinations of moves greatly improves the ability to learn from and understand a tactic. There are no restrictions. A recommended move is displayed (& updated as the algorithm runs) You must play for the computer, giving you complete flexibility. 2) When you make a mistake, instead of only "wrong!" you are shown your opponent's counter move. 3) "Alternative move found" functionality for equivalent solutions
5 ★Simple app. Easy to use. Love how my progress is tracked. That always helps to make you get serious and play precisely while working on improving. No Ads so that's amazing! One tip to improve the app is if we could save or bookmark a puzzle. Then we could try again any puzzles that we failed but at a later date for the sake of improving. I really appreciate the app though so A BIG THANK YOU!
5 ★Love it. Great problems and functionality, including sharing the position with an engine that allows me to analyze further or play over other moves. Wish I could go back to several problems at a time, one at a time, i.e. last, next to last, etc. Just to refresh my memory on the visual clues I just learned.
5 ★This app is appropriate for developing every aspect of chess. Opening strategy , middle game and end game. After solving a puzzle it is possible to analyze the puzzle and continue the game with computer. It is also possible to repeat the game from the winning positions which helps to train the mistakes or weaknesses
5 ★Thank you sir for making such a wonderful, fast, light and ad-free app! Every chess puzzle contained in this app is not only challenging but have been taken from real games, some having very sharp tactical lines. The ability to analyse every puzzle with Stockfish 10 Engine is also very useful. I would humbly like to request the developer(s) to add a 'menu' or 'home screen' to view all the solved puzzles in one page and also to add a 'highlight last move' feature. Keep up the good work!
2 ★Two problems: 1. The board disappears immediately after you make the "correct" move, so you have no time to review the position 2. Very often the other side makes a really dumb move which is deemed "correct", eg I threaten his rook with a pawn, so he moves his rook so that it can be taken by another pawn (when he had lots of other options)
2 ★It feels like there's no flexibility. Make a good move where you take a piece with no consequences? WRONG! You gotta actually sacrifice your queen to get 2 bishops. Create a fork where, no matter what, you'll be able to take a rook next turn? WRONG! Thing is, you have to do the moves EXACTLY like they want you to. And if you get it wrong ONCE, then your score is being decreased no matter what. Unforgiving
5 ★No Ads!!! Thank you 👍🏻The puzzles are very challenging for me at times but it feels great when I get them right on the first attempt. There is an option for hints or you can give up and see the solution. You can also play a game against the computer too.
5 ★Installed recently to replace another chess tactics trainer app which didn't work on Android 9. It is working great. I like that it allowsfor multiple possible winning moves in some positions. Only feature missing which would be helpful would be an option to display progress all the time rather than having to go via the settings screen.
5 ★Way better than Tactics Frenzy. Clever idea very well implemented. CTP gives you truly tricky and complex chess positions, can you find the best Stockfish moves or alternative equally good moves. Use this and your tactical ability will improve. Dev... how about a live progress ELO on the main screen instead of buried in the slightly unintuitive menus? Otherwise, kudos for the best chess puzzle app!
