هذا التطبيق متن الاجرومية تم تصميمة بطريقة مبسطة«المقدمة الآجُرُّومية في مبادئ علم العربية» أوجز فيه ابن آجروم كتاب «الجّمَل في النحو» لأبي القاسم عبد الرحمن بن إسحق الزجّاجي في خمسة وأربعين ومئة باب تناولت أبواب النحو والصرف والأصوات والضرورات الشعرية، وهي مباحث سهلة الحفظ تتعلق بعلامات الإعراب وتصريف الأفعال وإعرابها وأنواع المعربات من الأسماء، فكانت أساس الدراسات النحوية في زمنه، وتأخذ بمبدأ الاختيار من المدرستين الكوفية والبصرية، مع أن ابن آجروم كان أقرب إلى مذهب الكوفيين على خلاف الزجّاجي الذي كان ميالاً إلى البصريين ؛ قال السيوطي رحمه الله: اتبع الكوفيين في عباراتهم كالتعبير بالخفض بدل الجر، والأمر مجزوم بدلا من كونه مبنيا على السكون، وذكر كيفما ضمن الجوازم وهو قول الكوفيين خلافا للبصريين .
قال ابن الحاج رحمه الله: صار غالب الناس أول ما يقرأ بعد القرآن العظيم، هذه المقدمة – الآجرومية – فيحصل بها النفع في أقرب مدة .
ونقل ابن العماد فيه: المشهور بالبركة والصلاح ويشهد لذلك عموم النفع بمقدمته .
وقال في كشف الظنون عن الآجرومية : مقدمة نافعة للمبتدئين.
وقد كانت هذا المتن الصغير من أوائل ما طبع بالعربية، فطبع في روما سنة 1592م، ثم في روما مع شرح باللغة اللاتينية للأب أوبيشيني سنة 1631م، ثم طبع ببولاق سنة 1823 ثم طبع بكامبرج سنة 1832م ومعها ترجمة بالإنكليزية للقس بيرون، ثم في بيروت في مطبعة الجامعة الأمريكية سنة 1841م ثم في الجزائر سنة 1846م ومعها ترجمة فرنسية لموسيوبرين، ثم طبعت مع شرح باللغة المجرية سنة 1882م للمستشرق المجري كانيوريسكي (ت 1930م). ثم توالت طبعاتها في معظم البلاد العربية والإسلامية
