Historischer Hintergrund des SpielsDie ursprünglich schwäbische Familie der Zollern, später Hohenzollern genannt, erlebte seit der Belehnung mit dem Amt der Burggrafen von Nürnberg 1191 einen rasanten Aufstieg. Sie erhielten durch Kauf, Pfand, geschickte Diplomatie und zum Teil auch mit kriegerischen Auseinandersetzungen eine beachtliche Anzahl an Besitztümern und Rechten im heutigen Franken. Am 30. April 1415 ernannte König Sigismund seinen Getreuen Burggraf Friedrich VI. sogar zum Kurfürsten der Mark Brandenburg. Was für eine Karriere!
