**OBS: Appen er utviklet for nettbrett, og egner seg ikke for mobiler.**Språkkista: tegn og symbol app er en versjon av Språkkista 2 appen som er spesielt tilrettelagt elever med behov for alternativ og supplerende kommunikasjon (ASK), enten ved hjelp av håndtegn (tegn-til-tale) eller grafiske symboler Widgit Literary System (WLS).
Som den opprinnelige Språkkista- appen, vil også denne inneholde en stor bildebank på 300 ord og begreper innenfor 10 ulike tema, men denne gangen kun med norsk som tekstlig og auditivt språkvalg (bokmål og nynorsk).
I stedet for de mange ulike språkene som Språkkista 2 inneholdt, vil Språkkista: tegn og symbol tilby ett dynamisk og ett statisk ASK-språk: Tegn-til-tale og WLS.
I tillegg er det mulig å kunne legge inn egne bilder, tekst, lyd og små videoklipp, slik at man kan legge til eller endre innhold også ved bruk av for eksempel tegnspråk.
