This game is a fantasy RPG. You must destroy the rifts where the monsters are coming from, each called a "Dark Gate."

2 ★Ok its a pretty good so far though i have not figured out how to use the "holy bead" supposedly used for new jobs but dont know how it works. Sad :(
5 ★Hint: buy kusanagi sword and berserker ring at mystery shop for total ownage on the game. You need this both to overcome even the hardest enemies including boss! Enjoy the game =)
5 ★Kemco couldn't release an RPG that wasn't a five star experience to save themselves. This is more of the same. Buy it. You know you want to. So many classes. Beautiful sprites. An engaging story!
3 ★Please make this full screen. The black bars on the sides.....annoying. 5 stars for sure if full screen
5 ★In spite of having an automatic attack system, this game so far is very very fun. Characters attack automatically, but you can tap them to bring up the skills menu and have them use special moves, this initially turned me off from the game, but after resisting it for a few days and watching YouTube videos, I couldn't resist any longer. The translation seems really well done so far as well, I'm very happy about that. Dark gate is a very solid throwback to the 16 bit era and is easily my favorite kemco title.
4 ★Dialog is a little cheesy but I believe that is due to translation. System is good for touch screen and I like the characters a lot. The tutorial is confusing but once you figure it out its cake.
2 ★Evil grasshoppers keep my party sleep locked, but can't hurt me. Battle going on for fifteen minutes now and no side has done any damage. Can't exit the battle or return to title screen, requiring a FORCE CLOSE just to have it happen over again after reading my game. Poor design and logic.
4 ★I love the story, the idea, the quests and battles. I had trouble at first with the complexity of jobs, abilities, skills, etc., -- It was not clear to me how to equip abilities for automatic use in combat, or how to figure out what the best job asssignments were (to assign roles as soldier, supporter, etc.), how to get spells, and so forth. Why so difficult? I don't know. But it wasn't obvious to me how to get things done at first, and I'm still unsure how to do some of the simplest things. BUT it's a great game once you're in a dungeon and battling and getting things done. So I give it 4. Once I figure it all out, it'll probably be a 4.9 game in my view, but if an RPG veteran like myself is having trouble figuring out some of the simple stuff, I wonder how non-rpg folk will like struggling. Buy it, is my recommendation. The IAP issue doesn't bug me that much because I usually just refuse to buy in-app things as a personal point of conduct. I never make IAPs, so I won't, so it isn't a problem for me.
4 ★Decent watercolor style visuals and an interesting job system are the hallmarks of this Kemco outing. The translation is a tad stronger than some of Kemco's other RPGs though it is still rough around the edges. The plot is of the typical JRPG variety and involves a group of heroes banding together to save the world from monsters, magic, etc. The job class system is what makes the game really intriguing. Three different base classes branch off into different paths as you proceed through the tiers. Master a job class and it is unlocked for every character so that you don't have to travel through all the tiers with each character. You have several slots for skills and abilities so you can combine the various talents you unlock from the classes in a variety of ways. Most job classes only have a few levels and a few skills to unlock so as you progress you will rapidly master job classes and it is fairly easy to move your characters to the point where you will easily defeat any enemy you encounter. Within the first couple of hours, you will find yourself coasting through the rest of the (relatively short) game. Still, at only a couple of bucks it is fairly enjoyable.
3 ★Characters are way too small and bad controls - the character constantly stops moving while my thumb is on the pad.
4 ★Great game! Fun job system! Totally insane, head-scratchingly strange dialogue! Really, this one has a weird localization.
4 ★First of all whoever said it took 9 hours to clear is full of it,there is no way he did all of the classes,all of the quests,the 100 level dungeons in 9 hours,let alone the multiple endings. My only complaints are no manual and the auto combat,I wish you could turn it off at times especially when stealing,things like whatever action is at the top of the skills(like defend,attack,steal,mug)is what the will do constantly without manually clicking them.
