Description

Simple design and easy to use! Practice the /s/ sound in words. Also useful for language learning and English as a Second Language practice (ESL).

If Using for Articulation:
The key to success is to practice a new sound in words after the new sound has been established. Words that were once mispronounced must be repeated many times in order to become easily produced. Normal speech is automatic and we want the new sound to become a new habit.

This app should be used to motivate repetition of a new target sound that is already produced correctly. It is not intended to teach or discriminate sounds. It does not give 100% accurate feedback between similar sounding phonemes such as /sh/ and /th/ BUT should engage and motivate production of speech.

If Using for Language:
Press the image to hear and learn the word
OR
Press the microphone icon and say the word and receive feedback to see if you got it right.

The app includes:

20 images with /s/ in the beginning of the word
20 images with /s/ in the middle of the word
20 images with /s/ in the end of the word
20 Challenge words (/s/ blends)
Table game activities you can print and play offline

Press the image to hear the word. Press the microphone button to say the word and get feedback.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

3 ★I was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate and have a hard time with the 'S' sound. This app isn't ideal for what I need as I was hoping it would help show how you should make the sound or form it and play back how I sound. Instead it has you say the word and passes you if it can recognize what you're saying or not. It's cute. Fun for my son to play with, but not helping well with my speech.
