3 ★Pretty, but shallow, with some bugs. The good: Pretty artwork, nice music on title screen, exposes you to some Japanese cultural artifacts that you might wish to learn about. The bad: Gameplay ends up very linear, with little strategy. Typical play through is that you and the AI just move to the nearest available space each turn, and one player wins by 2 or 3 points at the end with no obvious reason why. The game chews up over 10% of battery usage in the background. Maybe a notification bug?
3 ★Decent, but single player is lacking. The AI is very weak and has no options to increase or adjust difficulty. Achievements also don't work at all in single player. There's no rules reference to go back and look up how something works; you can replay the tutorial but that's it.
2 ★Great game except after my first time opening the app, it just stopped working. Every time after my first time, I can't press any of the buttons. It's entirely unresponsive. Everything else on my phone works perfectly. I reinstalled and then had the same experience. First time works, but all other times don't.
5 ★The gameplay is good.. But it have so many bugs.. Later i just win the match but the screen goes error like glitching.. And then when i switch application for a while.. The game is stuck.. And then i can't scroll the map anymore.. On my early game, i can scroll the map.. One more thing, its should be good if you can increase the variety of characters..
3 ★I guess that the developers have given up on adding the expansions. Crossroads used to appear on the start menu, though you couldn't click on it. It was supposed to be available soon. Now it is gone. Too bad, because without expansions the game is pretty limited. With them I could see it being one of the better, if not the best, board game ports.
5 ★One of the most beautiful and elaborate games I've come across. Once you understand the game completely, it feels like you're playing in ZEN mode. Brilliant graphics. You can pass and play with your friends as well. Please create an extensive version. I'd be great if it's some other destination following the Japanese East River.
3 ★Love this boardgame, app needs work. Has several bugs. Just ran into a game breaking bug with temples. On 4th day I went to Temple to donate when I had 10 already donated previously. It wouldn't let me donate any even though I had 3 coins, and it wouldn't let me leave. Eventually it booted me from the game with my friend.
1 ★"Connecting.. Please wait a moment.." I've been looking forward to playing this game online multiplayer with friends.. but the notification above keeps on showing even though I've waited for 10mins... spoils the mood for anyone who has to wait that long just to play a game.. Not gonna change my stars review until some improvements been made...
4 ★Gives the full boardgame experience. Online play was greatly appreciated. However I would like to point out 2 bugs I encountered: 1. Player with highest score is not declared winner at the end of online games. 2. My screen glitches out after the announcement of the player with most donations. I can provide screenshots if needed. Hope to hear from the dev.
5 ★This game reproduces the physical version beautifully. It is well designed, all the different phases and sections of the game are enriched by adding more graphical polish. I have only two considerations: - the HUD is clearly designed for tablets, on smartphone it is a little bit small. - if possible i would like to be able to skip the walking animations in between players turns when playing against AI. Just to comolete a game faster
4 ★Slow paced game with a very nice presentation. Strategy and choice paths are low. So, it does feel like auto play at times. Hoping they'll come out with the crossroads expansion at some point to mitigate that... Had some issues on S10 but the devs pushed out a patch after a few emails. Performs well now, only had one minor issue in a game so far. I do wish they had a rule book or help menu outside of the tutorial though. I only play offline so I can't give input on online stability.
1 ★Artstyle and animations are beautiful even though the latter are really too slow when playing with AI or other player (please add an option to speed up the movements). Strategy wise is not challenging or competitive enough but at least it is a relaxing experience. Giving 1* cause online doesn't work at the moment, otherwise it's a 3* game.
