Description
Kraken in Leiden is een app waarmee je de Leidse kraakgeschiedenis kunt ontdekken. De app toont je alle gekraakte huizen en panden in Leiden uit de periode 1970 tot en met 2010. Zoek een voormalig kraakpand in jouw buurt, volg onze wandeling of bezoek onze website.De app toont op een digitale kaart alle bekende Leidse kraakpanden. Bij elk pand vind je historische achtergrondinformatie en spraakmakende anekdotes. Je kunt de app gebruiken vanuit de luie stoel, maar je kunt er ook mee door Leiden slenteren.
Tien geselecteerde panden vormen samen een unieke historische stadswandeling. De app is er speciaal voor diegenen diegene die een andere kant wil zien van de Leidse geschiedenis.

Hoewel het woord 'kraker' makkelijk associaties oproept met anarchistische jongeren in leren jassen, klopt dit beeld maar gedeeltelijk. De Leidse krakers vormden een bont gezelschap van jonge gezinnen en ouderen, van kunstenaars, alternatieve jongeren en politieke activisten.
Deze app maakt het mogelijk te zien waar er in Leiden gekraakt werd, door wie en met welke gevolgen.
