Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

1 ★Good sound but that's about it. Constantly crashes on tidal and Spotify. No where near as good as Sonos which I have never had a problem with. They should also consider adding radio stations to the app. Unfortunately I don't listen to them anymore and probably wish I never bought them Luckily I still have my Sonos system that I truly enjoy and that's what I'll stick to from now on. Disappointed.
1 ★An update to a previous review. Several months of use and this app is both an insult and an embarrassment. The app crashes CONSTANTLY, music will stop playing CONTANTLY, it will skip songs, has major delays between songs, major delays in response and volume response. I run TIDAL through a Samsung S8, so it's not a phone performance issue. The speakers lose connection to the very often, I have had to format the speakers and reinstall the app numerous times to make it even work. I have written to the developers to ask for assistance and have had very little help, I then asked to be put in touch with the manufacturers to see if it is a hardware problem, several months have gone by with no contact. I can run TIDAL via Roon on my pc with no problem, but should I have to spend $500 on top of over $2000 to listen to my music?? I'm almost sad that when the speakers do work they sound so good, because if they didn't this "supporting" app & lack of customer service is bad enough to make me want to return them altogether. If I could give this app a half star I would. @ KEF, find a new partner to build this app from scratch. It is a disaster and it is turning your brand into a joke.
1 ★Hard to believe an app can be this bad. Shameful. Connectivity to streaming services is too restricted. The app drains my battery even when not being used. Playing music from my PC has such long gaps between songs I think the album has finished. The songs are listed in alphabetical order not track number. The user interface is banal.
1 ★Because of an update to this app yesterday, my speakers have stopped working. Within the app, when I connect to the speakers, I now get a message informing me that I can update the firmware of the speakers. I do not wish to do this. They work fine, or did until this update. The app then fails to connect, presumably until I endure the process of moving very heavy speakers to my PC. Then enduring endless error messages until my elderly PC finally updates the firmware that I neither need nor want. Please roll back to the previous version of the app until you have fixed this bug, and no longer force firmware updates on us. Kef, your speakers are sublime. Why do you not invest in half decent software?
2 ★The app's feature set is promising, but bugs and crashes really bring it down. Over the course of using them for two days the music has stopped between tracks and failed to restart 5 times. In each instance when I force stopped the app and cleared its cache it started working again. This is a real disappointment for an otherwise fantastic set of wireless speakers.
1 ★Just all around terrible, horrible ui, almost constantly freezes and takes ages to respond to a tap. For example skipping or pausing a track takes about 30 seconds for it to respond. Not at all expected for a company that produces premium speakers. I have the LSX and for the premium price I expected an on par app, thoroughly disappointed.
3 ★Works 90% of the time, the 10% being when I change tracks top fast and it may lag. I gave 3 stars because on my Note 9, it always is reported as a rogue app that works in the background sucking battery when I leave it overnight to charge. And this is evident when I pick up the phone in the morning and it is warm to the touch. I have to make a conscious effort to kill the app before charging to deal with the problem.
1 ★Trying to use tidal through this app is an utter nightmare. You basically need to babysit your phone and manually initiate each song one by one. Playing an album is nearly impossible as there's about a 25% chance that the next track will play, and if it does, it adds about 20 seconds of silence between tracks.
1 ★Simply does not work. Streaming from local server stops. Big gaps between tracks even with gapless playback (and latest firmware). Blank list of recent tracks. Generally useless. Some other apps work better with the LS50W, but the main problem seems to be the renderer, which doesn't reliably allow tracks to advance down the playlist.
1 ★Awful These very good and very expensive speakers cannot be controlled by this very awful app. Awful connection speed. Awful interface. Awful experience. The app constantly loses connection. The app doesn't recognize track numbers so your music lists only alphabetically. The app lists FLAC files as AAC. The app takes an elephant's lifetime to find music on a network.
1 ★Streaming using the DLNA protocol is quite impossible. Songs stop playing in the middle of the track or doesn't switch to the next song on the playlist. Something more enraging? It works fine with air play, or using a raspberry pi as DLNA Receiver, network isn't the problem! I would say that compatibility with Android is a bad joke.
1 ★Spectacular speakers with the USB input. But the Wi-Fi input is useless because it is controlled by this app. The app displays local DNLA libraries (wmp, foobar) but doesn't play tracks. The general layout is inconsistent, some pages have a home menu button, some don't. Text labels are mis-sized and obscured on my Pixel 2. Unprofessional. EDIT #1: 1 week later: Contacted the developer with details as suggested - no response. It is ironic that a speaker company is deaf to it's customer. EDIT #2 : The previous edit got a response from KEF, but nothing actionable yet. Life is too short to wait for tech support. TWO APPS THAT DO WORK FOR LS50W WI-FI INPUT : 1) BubbleUPNP + foobar2000 + foo_upnp component. 2) FoobarCon + foobar2000 + foo_out_upnp component [Preferences->Playback->Output to the name of your LS50W, and format to 24 bit] Pressing play in Spotify app preempts these apps, and vice-versa. When preempted Spotify playlist pauses, FoobarCon playlist ends, Bubble continues and grabs the speakers back! Best to pause in current app before playing other app. KEF, wanna do something useful?
