Description

FrogID is Australia’s first national citizen science frog call identification initiative – a project led by the Australian Museum in partnership with Australia’s leading natural history museums.

Use the App to create a free profile and record frog calls. You can choose to match your calls to the frog calls on the app, then submit your recordings to the Australian Museum frog experts to listen and verify the species.

With your help we can put more frog species on the map and track changes to their species and habitats over time, and therefore monitor the health of our ecosystems.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Takes a while to get into and understand for us old folk, but worth it. Should be available on computers as well. I have 4 make shift ponds and a large pond under construction. I had no idea how many frogs live in the suburbs.
5 ★Waiting for pond hatchings at Bunya 4055 laid 19/12/24
5 ★Love it I just wish the government would increase funding for the apps development because it's kind of important and has the odd bug or two still.
5 ★Fantastic app for frog identification and general learning about frogs. It would be great to have a favourites page though and the ability to zoom in on pictures
5 ★I think that this is an amazing idea and concept. However I am unable to use this as I am not in Australia. Is there ever a plan for expanding to international frog identification?
5 ★Love how easily I can contribute frogs call's from our own yard into a national project and database. Including uploading photos.... if I manage any half decent photos. Big Bonus... Surprises as frog species identified by the program that we previously were unaware of. I do still have one little gripe .... The pop-up menu contrast or choice of colour does make them hard to read still especially in low light.
1 ★Not for my area, led to believe helps to id frogs it doesn't
5 ★Brilliant tool for identifying nearby frogs from their frog calls.
5 ★I love this app. I love being part of a wider community that, together, we help in gathering information that can assist in forming a better understanding of our frog populations.
3 ★I'll give it an average review. I'm sure it works well in Australia, but there are no results for other regions, so it's not useful to many of us.
