5 ★This is an interesting app with potential to teach Chinese through interaction of the app. I like its flexible approach to learning. Perhaps an update would be to just tell the story. The story is nice to be heard without any further interaction one the words are learnt, otherwise it because a pain just to read through the pleasant stories. Also a better financing option would be to buy all stories as well.

4 ★This is a fun and engaging app. I like that you can toggle between Chinese only text and Chinese + English. I think the stories could facilitate more character learning if the characters could be highlighted somehow (color, underlined, etc) as the words are being spoken. Also, I would buy more stories if the app had an option to hear Mandarin with complex/traditional characters. Right now, the Mandarin option is only paired with simplified characters and the Cantonese option with complex/traditional.

2 ★The pictures and storylines are engaging for young children. However it will be difficult for children to learn the language if it is translated into English straight after. Perhaps a tool to switch it on or off depending on use. Or have it like a subtitle.

2 ★Simple word dragging app, its got catchy music and nice graphics but its unlikely to teach any Chinese as its main purpose

2 ★The app looks great and is very responsive. As a non fluent speaker, I found it difficult to keep up with the pace of reading. Perhaps some function for slower reading would be helpful. Also it would be helpful to space the chinese so that it sits over the corresponding word in English.

1 ★Although pretty, I don't think this app is capable of teaching Chinese to anyone. It has a fill-in-the-blank approach, where the user drags in a phrase that matches the Chinese characters, but aside from a cartoon graphic, provides no help on what those characters mean. Furthermore, someone who doesn't know what the surrounding words are don't get any context for what they mean. I think the target audience is kids who already know Cantonese, and dragging words around is fun enough for them to participate in storytelling. But learning Chinese... I am doubtful that would be achieved.

5 ★Simple stories with really cute and attractive graphics. As my kids are non-Chinese speakers, they only really learn the key words that you drag and drop at this stage. However I can see that their knowledge could develop further the more they use it. Otherwise, if you're someone who has basic knowledge, this should help reinforce your grasp of listening / interpreting the language.

5 ★Love playing Abby's stories with my daughter. It's full of beautiful illustrations and engaging play. We're learning some Chinese before a trip to Beijing in October and this has been really good for immersion in Mandarin! Also its really addictive!
