Description
Derby Media Aboriginal Corporation commenced radio broadcasting on 1st March, 2003 on frequency 97.9fm. We currently broadcast live-to-air to the township of Derby and nearby communities including Mowanjum.In our short history we have gained credibility locally with a survey revealing that 95% of the local population listen to 97.9FM at some stage during the week for local news, views, music and events, with many admitting to being dedicated Larrkardi Radio listeners.
We have also won 6 national CBAA awards to date.
We have added a recording studio and a training area to our existing studios to better provide for our local musicians to meet and record their music.
