Description

22 Shrutis are basic musical notes in Indian/Carnatic Classical Music. This app gives you ‘ready’ and ‘precise’ sounds of 12 notes of ET (European Equi-tempered) Scale, as well as 22 Shrutis (Indian Natural Scale), as used in 500 Ragas, with their frequencies (hz), from any selected Shadja (Fundamental Tone). A section for direct comparison of 12 ET notes and 22 Shrutis is also included. This app can be used for tuning instruments and for practicing vocal/instrumental music.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

4 ★Very good app. Thanks to the whole team for making this. It does crash when switching between different views, like from 22 shrutis page to playing ragas page. I am sure you might have known about this issue. Anyways, I have a couple of requests for you guys. There should be a way play aaroha and avaroha just normally (not through ragas), plain sa re ga ma pa dha ni. Of course, it should have all 22 shrutis and it would play aaroha and avaroha based on which shrutis the user selects. I liked the aaroha and avaroha feature in the ragas but I felt it's a little fast. Good to listen to it, but if want to practice, it's a bit faster and I find it hard while practicing because I can't figure out if I am going out of tone. So this drives one more request. For the same earlier request, i.e. aaroha avaroha feature, there should be a way to specify time duration the user wants each Shruti to persist. For example, if the user selects sa, re, ga, pa, dha and the time duration is 30 seconds, then it should play those five notes each for 30 seconds, aaroha and avaroha. I hope you got what I am trying to say. Pester me if you have any more questions about this or if something wasn't clear.
5 ★Phenomenal work by Dr.Vidyadhar Oke and the team working on the app. It isquite astounding how very few people know about the complexity of theIndian scales. The app does have a few cracks here and there, but lookingat the general body of work that has gone within the making of the app, these things are quite trivial.
5 ★I can't thank you enough. Your app has solved my every confusion, I was thinking It will take me months to figure out the shruties for all the raags as per your videos and explanations But now they are all available in your app. Thanks a lot once again for such big contribution to classical music.
2 ★We know yaman is a sampoorna- sampoorna jaati raga. Click on yaman and you would find there is no initial sa to it nor is the pa. I mean after you claim to give us the exact shruti of each note for a raga, why is there an error in the number of notes of raga itself? Explain it to me if I am making some mistake. But the theories I have come across says yaman is a sampoorna jati raga.
4 ★I am sure the makers must have put in tremendous efforts to put together this app which gives aural demo of each"shruti" which we have been only reading about. It is so easy to comment or give suggestions but difficult to implement each suggestion. However, since I believe this and such apps portraying the uniqueness of Indian classical music are very important in today's world of electronic music, it is important that helpful suggest are given. As already mentioned by other reviewers, the change-over from one shruti to the next needs to be seamless and the background scratching noise can be reduced in order to make the app more melodious. Would be glad to check for updates and improve the rating to five stars once these glitches are ironed out!
4 ★Request to correct the symbols in "select your Sa/Scale. In western music # is for tivra swar called sharp. For komal swar, called flat, b (like) symbol is used. So either F#,G,G#,A,A#,B,C,C#,D,D#,E,F or Gb,G,Ab,A,Bb,B,C,Db, D,Eb,E, F according to western music symbols. Using # for komal swar can create confusion for those conversant with western music symbols, as it is used to signify half note higher frequency. Ideally Indian scale in western notation would be, F#,G,Ab,A,Bb,B,C,Db,D,Eb,E,F
4 ★Read all your research great work!! App is really good for knowing andmatching swaras, but would have loved it even more if there was a tanpuraversion so that each swara can pe practiced with natural harmonics, existing apps like tanpura droid are corrupting our ears with 12 notes ifET scale, please help us with a tanpura version
5 ★Very helpful and one of the best apps I ever had.. Just I suggest you to add option to increase or decrease tempo when playing any raag.. Also if possible to add option to play more than 2 Shruti at the same time so that a singer can use it for Riyaz. And also a option to create our taan(exercises) in particular raag with tempo adjustment.. These three major update will make this app the best one.. Thank you..
5 ★Superb app.. However , one observation .. Frequency of the selected Shadja is one octave higher than the displayed. E.g . When I select E , displayed frequency is 329.63 however the frequency of the actual sound wave is exactly the double. Just an observation .. there must be some reason or explanation..
5 ★Exploring it and learning something new every time I use it. Thanks Oke sir for making it accessible for learners like us who are still trying to get the correct note in their purer form. Thanks a lot✌️🏼
5 ★Excellent work by Dr Vidyadhar Oke and programmer Vibhavari Rajadnya, to the music practitioners all over the world for this new year...
