W roku 2018 festiwal w Jarocinie odbędzie się w dniach 13 – 15 lipca i będzie rozwinięciem zainaugurowanej w roku 2017 formuły artystycznej oraz organizacyjnej. Oprócz Motywu i Ambasadorów, nie zabraknie legendarnego konkursu debiutantów Jarocińskie Rytmy Młodych i imprez towarzyszących, w tym wydarzeń pozamuzycznych.W roku 2017 Jarocin Festiwal diametralnie zmienił swoją formułę. Z imprezy na otwartym polu na obrzeżach miasta, stał się w pełni miejskim wydarzeniem ze scenami usytuowanymi w centralnych punktach Jarocina.
Kontynuowaną nowością będzie formuła artystyczna, której współkreacji podejmą się artyści – ambasadorzy poszczególnych wydarzeń, w tym roku będą nimi lider legendarnego Sex Pistols John “Rotten” Lydon oraz Wojciech Mazolewski, czołowy polski instrumentalista i jazzman.
Jednym z filarów festiwalu będzie ponownie konkurs debiutantów, który w formule Jarocińskich Rytmów Młodych, pod opieką jury, w którego składzie znajdą się muzyczne osobistości. Dopełnieniem JRM będą warsztaty i panele z zaproszonymi gośćmi podczas Jarocin Festiwal 2018.
Po raz drugi pojawi się także MOTYW, czyli szereg wydarzeń poświęconych najjaśniejszym punktom z bogatej festiwalowej historii. Jarocin Festiwal 2018 przyjmie MOTYW: ROTTEN, aby uhonorować światową ikonę muzyki i punkrockowej kontrkultury.
Rok temu, po wieloletniej przerwie organizacja Festiwalu wróciła w ręce miasta i miejskiej instytucji kultury – Muzeum Regionalnego w Jarocinie – Spichlerza Polskiego Rocka w Jarocinie. W tym roku, do Muzeum dołącza Biblioteka, zatem organizacja Festiwalu jest w rękach jarocińskich instytucji kultury.
