In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxSacramento, where x=independently organized TED event. At our TEDxSacramento event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.For our attendees, TEDx Sacramento is a chance to “check out” from the day-to-day routine and go on an intellectual journey with 700 smart and curious friends to a world filled with brilliant speakers, captivating performances, amazing new technology, and thought-provoking TEDTalks. For our speakers, it is an opportunity to engage the community (both locally and internationally) with the ideas that matter most. For our patrons and partners, it is an opportunity to display their commitment to the Capital Region and the role it can play in shaping the global dialogue.
