AlexFM broadcasts programmes mainly on topical issues that are pertinent to challenges and aspirations of listeners, such as domestic violence, crime, immunization, hardships and gowning entrepreneurial economy, to name but a few. Issues of development are discussed in depth and the role of the radio station in this arena cannot be underestimated. There is currently ongoing housing project, infrastructural upgrading, improvement of social services, and in the process job creation initiatives. Despite the ominous challenges facing government, the private sector, organizations and civil society, there are positive developmental signs emerging from the township. One of the major contributing factors is that Alexandra is a nodal point and a presidential lead project.
