Description

Piano Companion is a piano chords and scales dictionary with user libraries and reverse mode with a chord progression builder. Our free app has circle of fifths with compatible chords (or chord wheel). Using circle of fifths and chord progression builder you can compose songs and learn, play chords and scales. You can compose music using our real piano and use your MIDI keyboard to play and record songs. It helps you to learn music theory too.

If you can’t remember the name of a chord or scale, this app helps you to find it by keys (or MIDI keyboard). For example, just press C, G and you will get C Major as the first chord in the search result. If you don’t see a chord, you can create a custom chord and use it for chord charts or your user library.

The Piano Companion app shows chord and scale notes, degrees, fingering for both hands in major and minor scales – and you can contribute your own custom fingering too. Additionally, you can listen how a scale or chord sounds in the loop or arpeggiated and other music theory information. You can see the list of compatible chords in the selected scale or list of compatible scales for a selected chord.

The app helps you to experiment with different chord progressions using our Chord Progression Builder using relative or common chords and other music theory related chords.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

4 ★I wish I had more than 500 words! Let me start by saying this is probably a 5 star app for most people. However, it was not working properly on my Note 8. Songtive has GRADE A+ CUST SERVICE. They refunded my $ then requested tech details. Given my current lack of time I refused. I feel this app is superior to others and will be a winner for MOST. I'm well into my music career, know music theory, & say: TRY IT. At any level. I know from exp they wont hold your money hostage if you cant use it -JM
1 ★I just checked with google and was informed that no app needs to know the remote telephone number of a call or any other information like that for your type of application. They also told me that the developer needs to fix it on their end. And the developer is solely responsible for the permissions and its code that the application is demanding. They also pointed out that other application in the same category currently in are not asking for the same permissions your application is asking for.
5 ★Very, very complete. Maybe it's only fault is that it's so complete that it can be too complex, but that is probably just being picky.
5 ★I've been searching for an app like this for a long time! I can finally make some chord progressions with ease at the phone and export to have fun later in my computer's DAW! Just be warned: it doesn't allow to save nor export unless you purchase the pro version.
5 ★Great app, for now I am using it to find some chords solutions.
2 ★I signed up for subscription, but cancelled. The app is really glitchy. It crashed a couple of times, and the sound stopped working multiple time as I was trying to build chord progressions. It's a great concept, but it was too annoying yo have to restart the app and lose all my settings every time the sound quit working.
3 ★Works well but couldn't find the chord I reverse looked up using the piano keys after trying the free trial so I don't know if it's for me
5 ★This musician's tool has a very interesting and intelligent concept, as is evident even by just taking a brief look at the trial version. IMHO it's a pity that the producing company also seems to have to resort to modern day "micro payment" bullcrap economy. Yet it seems to be hard enough anyway to earn enough money with well thought out & highly specialized software like this, so this is still understandable. Five stars for the good concept. Would be nice to also be able to purchase a fully featured Win / Mac / Linux version, to be paid for only once, but _not_ by some nerve wrecking subscription model. Cheers & thumbs up.
4 ★It is a good and quite useful app if you pay the subscription. I must admit that the interface isn't really friendly, though. Anyway, this a great tool for musicians (Mainly piano players) and it is nicely made, in overall.
4 ★great App and full of information, I love it. only thing I may complain about, it is a bit slower than expected. moving from one part to the other is slow, not sure why, maybe it access a server or something over the internet while using it. all in all, very informative application and we'll done.
5 ★awesome app for anyone learning music theory. useful for any tonal instrument. so many useful features and references. it kinda does everything. there's even a full keyboard! so cool. i might suggest adding a metronome, but even without it, i love this app.
4 ★Nice very useful, but you can't open relative chords easily
