Description

Steel yourselves, and begin to defend your mind from the language used against you by the sophists of the world.

They are many, we are few, but with the Logical Defense app, we now have an extra tool in our box of rationality.
Use this app to quickly look-up the logical fallacies we face when debating against the irrational.
Call out those who are logically flawed and help to build a more rational society.

Honesty is the first virtue, so let's be painfully honest towards those who attempt to use language as a form of mental abuse. Never accept a logical fallacy, attack the attacker, and spread logic and reason to those you love.

Ok, enough rambling. This is an app that displays a list of the logical fallacies that haunt every rationalists' mind.

Some features:

- Left drawer that houses categories.
- Share function -> Long press a fallacy to share it.
- Nice about screen.
- Language selection function.

This is a fully open-source project (GNU v2), and the source is hosted on GitHub so feel free to fork me :)

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

User's Reivew

5 ★A very lite glance at logical fallacies, which I believe is what it's billed as. GJ. Oh, and dev: if you are in fact a Russian hacker, I gave the app 5 stars; would you mind sparing me?
4 ★Will the be any updates? Like, I found a fallacy called "non-sequitur", but I don't see that in the app, unless I'm missing it, like maybe it has a different name or something. It would be nice if all the fallacies were in the app, and most of the other apps that have fallacies don't have as many as this one does. Also, as someone else said, a way to search would be nice as well. Otherwise awesome app.
1 ★This is the kind of thing someone would use when they are too lazy to study the facts and too proud to listen to someone else who did, and only care about winning rather than being right. Pretty sure this was designed by a Russian hacker.
3 ★Overall good app. If there were some more fallacies (and also include other common names of fallacies, like appeal is majority is also appeal to popularity or the masses) I would probably give a 4 star.
3 ★I like the app, but some of the categories overlap and could be another fallacy. I like the idea but needs substantial refinement. An app like this should be standard fare for everyone so their thinking progresses to logical based. Who knows, enough people with the proper way of thinking and religion should die in secular democracies (hopefully).
3 ★Aside from the cringeworthy hyper-political examples used throughout, this is a very nifty little app. All that's keeping this from a well earned five stars is an expanded library of fallacies with more professional language.
5 ★Great app. The only people complaining about it are the ones who use these tactics in arguments, as they can't win any other way. Also, most of the detractors are just butthurt about the examples. Overall, wonderful app. I definitely recommend it.
5 ★Not complete, but consistent in its organisation, which to me seems the nicer trait to have. Helps me catch myself when I resort to lazy, faulty logic. Five stars!
4 ★Nice job. The overall impression of the reviews is that some people really don't like to confronted with evidence of their own logical fallacies. But then we sorta knew that, didn't we :-)
3 ★If you can look over the lack of refinement in the definitions and blatantbias in the examples, it's not bad. It's nothing great however.
5 ★Great app! Bad arguments are so prevalent around my family and colleagues, but now I am fully equipped against that. Five stars.
1 ★Every example gives straw man arguments against conservative thought as thefalesy... I thought I was going to get something academically valid.
