1 ★The game is great. The new ads that don't let you back out of them are very annoying and may cause me to quit playing. Update: running into more 30 second ads that don't let you back out...it takes about 3 seconds to tell I'm not interested, so it just results in me getting pissed off. What marketing genius came up with this idea. I'll probably uninstall the next time it happens.
1 ★I used to love this game. I've even purchased puzzle packs in the past. Decided to start playing again after a couple years, and I can't even play the daily bonus puzzles. Every time I click on one, I watch the full ad, then push the "x" and it takes me back to the initial screen instead of into the puzzle. I was willing to watch an ad to play- but watching several and still not being able to play?... I'm out. Uninstalling now.
1 ★I have been something of a devotee of this game on the past. Very enjoyable. However, due to something outside of my control, I had to factory reset my phone. I figured I use Google play games so surely my progress will save and reload. This sadly was not the case. If only there were some way for me to sync my progress. New update vanished all puzzle packs and disappeared all progress. Interface appears yup see littered with invitations to pay for things, even though this is a play pass app.👎
1 ★So is there a way to like, un-update this? I do alot of UI design for work, and to me the changes in this last update are just perplexing. The old UI was definitely not good, theres no question about it, but it had charm in a classic, utilitarian way. Because of that it was also super intuitive, in the same way anyone can pick up and play a Gameboy. I don't know what you're going for with this UI. You traded charm and simplicity for half-assed sorta-material-design garbage.
4 ★Ever since I upgraded to Android 11, I've had problems with this app (only). I can play the current daily puzzles, no problem, but when I try to play some of my packs, it freezes, then closes the app. At first, I thought it was a conflict with my music app somehow, because when this app crashed, my music would stop. But I've continued to have the same issues with this app regardless of having no other apps running. It's a shame, I enjoy the game, but it's hardly worth the frustration.
3 ★Game itself isn't bad, but the ads are incredibly intrusive. Some ads will actually redirect you to your browser mid-game without you touching anything while the game timer keeps going. That is totally unacceptable. You should never be forcibly redirected by an ad you don't want to view. Edit: I really appreciate the prompt response and action by the game developers. Thank you!
1 ★Apparently a new company took over this nice little game and chose to ruin it. Most of the time, I can't even get it to load, but when it does, it's a completely different experience than when I first chose to keep it. It's considerably unfriendly, apparently on purpose, and far less intuitive. The hint options are not useful, the words finding has been altered in unrecognizable ways, and the UI has useless items. If they don't revert to the pleasant little game it was, I'll replace it.
1 ★Turned into a money scam. Got this app about 2-3 years ago on my kindle. Just about unlimited puzzles without a charge. No frills but it was awesome. Decided to look it up again as it was fun. Wow, now they just want your money! 25 games to get you hooked then everything else you have to buy. A yearly membership (30+ dollars?) Or 10 bucks for another round? A good brain game that started out with no cost now just a disappointing show of greed. You can find solo words games...free, just as fun.
4 ★Later in the game they increase the difficulty by making increasingly vague hints and equally more obscure answers. I was gonna see how they could continue to keep the game going without having to resort to that. Wordle, for example, keeps all its words simple and is still challenging. If you can't increase the challenge of the game without increasing the complexity of the words beyond a casual's level then the game starts to fall apart for me IMO. Still having a blast playing it tho!
5 ★Have played this game daily for years now, free daily puzzles & paid for games. It was always one if my favorites. For the past week, the free daily puzzles won't open, just shows an error message. Very frustrating! Same happens with another game I installed by the same company. I uninstalled that one already since I didn't like it as much. Update: Fixed by tech support. Thanks!
1 ★Fun little app ruined by a horrible ad model. You now have to watch an unskippable full-screen advertisement to even do a daily puzzle. Trying to exit out of the ad just makes it like you clicked the advertisement, bringing up whatever irrelevant content they shoved at you. I played this back in the day, and it was nowhere near this aggressive. Absolute garbage app that used to be a really fun time-waster back in the day. The puzzles are fun but not worth the hassle of having your device completely hijacked by an advertisement.
1 ★Haven't played in a long time and was nervous of the new design. I absolutely hate it. You get 100 free puzzles (outside daily), you can't unlock new packs, so you have to pay to play basically everything. 1 hour of the game before I needed money to continue. The clues are horrible and sometimes downright wrong. There's so much wordplay that the answers hardly make sense.
