SanaPelissä on tarkoitus löytää mahdollisimman monta eri sanaa kirjainruudukosta aikarajan sisällä. Sanan löydyttyä vastaavat ruudukon kirjaimet korvataan uusilla kirjaimilla, joten ruudukko muuttuu pelin edetessä.Ruudukon voi myös kierrättää, jollei sanoja tunnu löytyvän.
SanaPelissä on myös vapaa tila, jossa voi etsiä sanoja kolmesta erikokoisesta ruudukosta ilman aikarajaa. Tilanne tallennetaan automaattisesti, joten keskenjäänyttä sanapeliä voi jatkaa myöhemmin.
