Description
Stolpersteine erinnern an die Opfer des Nationalsozialismus. Mit Texten, Fotos, Audios, Graphic Storys und Augmented Reality-Elementen informiert die App interaktiv über Menschen, die während der NS-Zeit in deiner Straße, in deiner Stadt gelebt haben: Stolpersteine NRW macht Geschichte lebendig.In Nordrhein-Westfalen gibt es rund 15.000 Stolpersteine, die in mehr als 250 Städten verlegt wurden. Jeder Stein erinnert an einen Menschen, der Opfer des Nationalsozialismus wurde.
Stolpersteine NRW führt interaktiv dorthin, wo die Opfer zuletzt lebten, bevor sie zur Flucht, zum Suizid oder zur Deportation gezwungen wurden.
Stolpersteine NRW informiert über die individuellen Lebensgeschichten der Opfer, zum Beispiel in Form von:
- biographischen Texten und Audio Storys
- künstlerischen Illustrationen in Form von Graphic Storys
- historischen Fotos, Tonaufnahmen und Videos
- Augmented Reality-Inhalten
Darüber hinaus gibt es folgende Inhalte:
- Karte mit allen Stolperstein-Standorten
- Vorschläge für Stolperstein-Routen durch nordrhein-westfälische Städte
- Unterrichtsmaterial (in Zusammenarbeit mit „Planet Schule“)
- interaktive Filter zur Suche und Recherche in allen 15.000 Datensätzen
Expert:innen aus mehr als 150 nordrhein-westfälischen Städten haben dieses Projekt unterstützt. Ohne ihr Wissen und ihre Recherche-Unterstützung wäre das Projekt nicht möglich gewesen.

Was sind Stolpersteine?
- Stolpersteine sind 10x10cm große, in Gehwege eingelassene Messingplatten mit Basisinformationen zu einem Opfer des Nationalsozialismus. Sie werden überwiegend am letzten
bekannten Wohnort vor der Flucht oder Deportation / Flucht verlegt.
Warum gibt es Stolpersteine?
- Der Künstler Gunter Demnig verlegt die Stolpersteine im Rahmen seines Projektes, um damit der Opfer des Nationalsozialismus zu gedenken.
Wie viele Stolpersteine gibt es? Und wo kann man sie sehen?
- In Europa (überwiegend in Deutschland) wurden bislang rund 90.000 Stolpersteine verlegt. In den vergangenen fast 30 Jahren entstand so das größte dezentrale Denkmal der Welt. In NRW liegen etwa 15.000 Stolpersteine in mehr als 250 Städten. Die ersten Stolpersteine wurden 1992 in Köln verlegt. Jahr für Jahr folgen weitere.
