• Ein virtueller Rundgang gibt Ihnen alternativ die Gelegenheit sich mittels 360°-Panoramabildern in den Stockwerken umzusehen und die 21 Stationen anzusteuern. Zudem können Sie sich idealtypische Rekonstruktionen der Burg Wittelsbach und der Ausblicke aus dem 4. Stock im Videoformat anschauen.
• Neben den eingesprochenen Hörtexten gibt es auch Lesetexte für alle, die lieber selbst lesen.
Über das Museum
Das um 1418 erbaute Untere Tor war Teil der spätmittelalterlichen Aichacher Stadtbefestigung. Von 1989 bis 2019 beherbergte es das Wittelsbacher Museum, ein Zweigmuseum der Archäologischen Staatssammlung München. Seit 2019 befindet sich das Museum in städtischer Trägerschaft und wird unter dem gleichen Namen weitergeführt. Der Torturm präsentiert nun eine modern gestaltete Ausstellung auf vier Stockwerken. Neben archäologischen Erkenntnissen zur Siedlungsgeschichte im Aichacher Stadtgebiet, liegen die Schwerpunkte auf dem Grubet, einem ehemaligen Eisenerzabbaugebiet, und vor allem auf den Ausgrabungen auf der Stammburg der Wittelsbacher in Oberwittelsbach.
