Description

Eclipse Safari is your comprehensive interactive guide to the August 21 2017 Total Solar Eclipse of the Sun, visible along a narrow path spanning the USA from the West coast to the East coast. It's a free app developed by the makers of the award-winning SkySafari 5 astronomy app in collaboration with Space.com, the premier source of eclipse and space news.

Here is what you can do with Eclipse Safari:

Countdown Timer: Count down to when the moon’s shadow makes landfall on the West coast of the United States - down to the second - with the Eclipse Countdown clock. During the eclipse, the countdown clock dynamically updates to reveal which state the shadow is in and how long it will take to reach your location.

Space.com Eclipse News: Eclipse news and in-depth articles from Space.com, the leader in astronomy and space news.

Interactive Eclipse Map: Find the best location to observe the eclipse. Select a location on the map to retrieve accurate eclipse event times for any location on Earth.

Eclipse Simulator: Simulate the eclipse from your location or any location on the Earth. A time slider lets you manipulate time and simulate the eclipse from start to end.

Shadow Tracker: Enter Space View and watch the moon’s shadow travel across the face of the Earth.

Live Eclipse Updates: Breaking news on the eclipse from all over the internet.

Eclipse Viewing Guide: A comprehensive viewing and safety guide to the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse. We have you covered with everything you need to know in order to get the best eclipse experience.

Eclipse Live Stream: On eclipse day, watch a live stream of the eclipse as it happens.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

5 ★Very very sincere app to get current information of space activities . Through this app astrologists are able to get correct datas with connection to sky activities from our home planet . We can observe secrecy of stars updated .
3 ★App runs really slow. Couldn't find my location by city name or zip code, had to manually zoom into the map.
1 ★Information on timing never loaded. Always just said --. Pop up asking me to buy a paid app after Eclipse did load. Uninstalling instead.
2 ★Very bad experience with this app. Map does not work, uses too much data and gets frozen all the time.
1 ★Why did this depend on a network and remote servers? The night before the eclipse and on the day of the eclipse, the app became unresponsive and often stopped working altogether. And it would have long pauses when it did work. And it broke again when we went to our (rural) destination. It seemed like the app unnecessarily depended on mobile connectivity and remote services. Most information (including documentation and contact times) should have been stored or calculated locally on the phone instead of depending on remote servers. Why put yourselves in a position where overloaded servers and rural networks could be a limitation for such a huge and rare event?
1 ★Stopped functioning a couple hours before eclipse. Thankfully was around people who had some other app installed.
3 ★The interactive map loads and then closes, leaving me with just text information, no visual map.
2 ★Hangs forever on eclipse interactive map. Android 5.1.
1 ★Offered as application to time moment of eclipse totality. Timing was substantially incorrect. Mostly ad ware.
3 ★Did not use my location. Also seems to be off by an hour. Lots of popups.
2 ★Doesn't work. Sun is up, no stats like how long etc
2 ★Good potential, but failed on the one day it was needed. Couldn't even open it without a data connection, which since I was in a state park, I didn't have.
