Description
The law provides free legal aid to all the citizens of India who are unable to afford legal services. This app is aimed at fulfilling the constitutional aim of enhancing 'access to justice' for the marginalized sections (below poverty line, Migrant workers, Construction workers, Domestic workers, Manual scavengers and any other Unorganised workers.) of the society and the State's obligation of providing 'free legal aid' for all.This App can be used to contact the SJCL Legal Aid Committee for assistance in any ongoing litigation or for legal awareness by submitting an application.
St. Joseph College of law's Nyaya Mitra legal aid App provides the following services:
1. Providing legal assistance for accessing a lawyer or legal advice.
2. This App helps individuals submit an application for legal aid and ensures tracking of the application.
3. The App can be also used for obtaining information and assistance for availing the benefits of government schemes.
4. This App can also be used by social workers or other representatives to apply for legal aid on behalf of those who are in need.
How to Use:
Individual 'Applicants' can select the "Legal assistance" tab on the home page of the App and fill in the required details
Select the service required- 'legal aid' for assistance regarding any ongoing litigation,
'Legal advice' for any legal grievance or
'Legal literacy' to learn about any aspect of the law.
Alternatively, individuals may also record their queries after entering the required details about name, eligibility etc.
Select the 'Government Schemes in India' tab for information about various schemes you are eligible for.
