Description
At the start of a Gregorian calendar year every year, we need to ask a very pertinent question as to how relevant this calendar is to anyone.For starters, the year starts at a point with no Astronomical significance. Then there are the months which are absolutely haphazard. Why Octa (the Eighth) is the Tenth Month?
Then there is a complete jumble of days for each month (February?).
Just take a look at Panchanga, the Indian calendar which is thousands of years old and so very precise and in line with the Solar System.
Considering that these Panchangams were being calculated since thousands of years, it is just unbelievable how accurate and knowledgeable #Indian Rishis were in the field of #Astronomy. To understand and de-cipher the Solar system without the help of any telescopes, is absolutely astonishing.
As with other traditions of Bharat, the concept and calculations of Panchangam were relegated to the background over the years and has been labeled 'Primitive'.
In an effort to get this concept across, I have since developed an Android App 'Kaala-Maana', which helps visualize the Panchangam more easily. This will be FREE app on Play Store, ready and to be released soon.
The Intro video explains the Basics of Panchangam and also how Kaala-Maana can help one understand these concepts easily. I have included many features into this so that this becomes a part of every day life of people.
