3 ★First, the ad showed an animated puzzle that looked somewhat interesting, but the game is nothing like that. It's just a bunch of letters that you have to drag across to make words. Still sounded interesting, so I played. First, you get penalized for making words that aren't the correct number of letters. For example, if the puzzle is to find a two letter word and a four letter word, and you make a three letter word, you're penalized. Fair enough, but you have to find the words they want you to find. There are bonus words you can find, if you find them before the words they're looking for. Once you find all the words down in the puzzle, the thing is over. In top of that, many real words are rejected. For example, "id" isn't considered a called word. So you have to find a specific set of words. Not only do you have to know how to find words, but you have to guess which English words are words that the developers included in their relatively small word list. Of course, that doesn't matter, because if you get to many wrong answers, the little guy is hung, but you can keep playing, seemingly with penalty. Basically, you're given five letters and have to figure out which four words they're looking for and can keep trying until you get it right. It's almost as exciting as reading a dictionary.
3 ★Fine I guess, however if you're going to offer gems for extra words found in the levels, maybe actually allow words to add to that. I found "cab" and "lie" in levels and it gave me a miss for each one. They weren't words the levels were looking for but they should have counted toward the extra word prize. It's just frustrating to take a miss for something when technically it shouldn't have been a miss, it should have been a bonus!!! Edit after 1st reply from editors: If you rate the individual levels (on the middle left of the screen) you can give them words they missed, which is nice. Just something for people to remember though, if there is space for 3 letter words and 5 letter words but not 4 letter words, you can not get "extra words" using 4 letter words, which to me is kind of weird. Note for the editors: Maybe have someone go through each level using a word generator for scrabble or something so you actually have all the words there that should be available for people to guess? It may take some time, but it would make it a really well made word game if it actually had all the words usable in the level or as extras.
4 ★My biggest problem with this game is words they don't know. I'm on level 344 and I didn't keep track of all of them. There are not bunches, but enough to certainly be frustrating! The most recent words that it didn't know were "lice" and "glee". These were on two separate levels back to back. Usually there will be a word I try that's marked against me on each level. They could not all be words, but I'm sure most are. Just for the fun of it, I tried "deb" and it was a word. I didn't know it was more than a name. This game has 2 play options, England or United States. I chose Unites States because that's where I'm from and still live. I figure the reason the game developers don't know as many words as I do is because maybe they're from England. I'm not really upset at them for not knowing words, just more frustrated I guess. I understand not knowing all the words in the dictionary, but when they're counted against you for trying.....
2 ★The ad for this makes it look like the words are hidden in a room. It shows the word lamp hidden in the folds of a lampshade, quilt in the bed cover, etc. The real game is only letters on a pretend mat thing. It's no where near the challenge it presented. I'm very disappointed. There's a ton of these scrabblesque games. I wanted something unique.
3 ★It's OK. There are quite a few words that just aren't in there, even simple ones like jam! (Watch while they add it in after I say this) You used to be able to submit missing words, but that function is gone now. Edit: forgot to mention that sometimes they use abbreviations, and sometimes they don't. It's really inconsistent. Getting gems for hints is easy since the snake game caps out at level 10 and winning it gets you 80 gems (hint costs 60 and you can play over and over). Also tip: if you figure out a word that uses all the letters, Google that word's anagrams. Bam, you win...even if some of those words won't be in the game because their dictionary is incomplete.
2 ★The game is a repeat of a concept that has been out for a while. Game is "meh", only made worse by the fact that the ads are CONSTANT. At least one, sometimes two or more after EVERY level. The matching puzzles are infrequent, and when they do come up they repeat, so once you figure out the half-dozen of them, there is no challenge. Don't waste your time on this one. Other apps do this type of game better. I played it 2 or 3 times, not impressed. I am uninstalling this app.
2 ★This game is way too pushy about suggesting you watch ads to increase your gems. I found the constant suggestions distracting and annoying. Additionally, the ad that drew me here was misleading, as it showed one of the special challenges that only occur every 20 levels. Where is that game? As a whole, the game was mildly entertaining, but could take a queue from Wordscapes and only offer an extra add when you click away from the "buy gems" screen. There it feels helpful rather than invasive.
4 ★Great game. Very addicting. Too many ads, but that's to be expected. One suggestion for improvement - either a) give me a list of the words I've guessed wrong, or b) don't penalize for guessing the same word wrong more than once. Especially frustrating when the word you're guessing is an actual word, just not the right word..
1 ★Done with abbreviations and slang as words. It's not a horrible game, in fact it started out awesome. My issue is the consistency. I can find a word that I used in a previous puzzle, that meets letter requirements and I'm told it's not a word. Also frustrating is the fact that this game uses abbreviations and shorthand as words.
1 ★For an app that is solely focused on English words, it is surprising how many wrong and misspelled words they have. There is huge inconsistency between levels where a word is accepted on one level but rejected on another. This app sets a bad example for anyone using it due to the bad spelling. In addition, this app randomly spams popups on your phone, even when the app is not running. I do not want my day interrupted by a casual game.
5 ★In my opinion, this game can increase your thinking speed with respect to words and let you unscramble and think of different words with the same set of letters. I hope that the earlier levels of snake mode can be replayed. Also, the other modes like imagine mode needs more options cuz it gets boring when we have to do the same thing all over again.
1 ★The most cynical ad-serving app you will find. Later levels really ramp up the ad frequency: 2 words only per level, almost no bonus words are recognised. This is the google playstore at its worst.
