Pelajaran kimia bagi sebagian siswa dianggap sebagai pelajaran yang sulit untuk dipahami. Alat ini dirancang sebagai pengantar dan sekaligus untuk membantu siswa dalam memahami kimia secara visual dan menyenangkan.EduChem ini dirancang sebagai laboratorium virtual untuk percobaan kimia sederhana. Pada seri alat yang ditampilkan saat ini terdapat keping - keping yang melambangkan unsur dalam bentuk yang menarik. Dengan keping unsur ini akan dijelaskan tentang unsur dan struktur atom dalam bentuk 3D yang menarik, sehingga anak dapat memahami bahwa atom terdiri dari proton, neutron dan electron dengan cara memvisualisasikan gerakan elekron dalam bentuk animasi 3D, sehingga siswa dapat memahami konsep yang baik mengenai gerakan elektron.
Dengan menempelkan keping – keping unsur yang sesuai, akan ada tampilan bagaimana terbentuknya molekul atau senyawa yang terjadi karena ikatan kimia ditunjukan secara virtual animasi 3D, sehingga siswa dapat melihat bagaimana terbentuknya ikatan kovalen maupun ikatan ion secara virtual 3D dan juga dapat memahami secara konsep perbedaan antara kedua jenis ikatan kimia tersebut.
Ada beberapa molekul dan senyawa yang akan diperagakan seperti O2 dan H2 dan H2O, HCl, NaCl dan lain-lainnya.
Aplikasi EduChem hanya bisa digunakan dengan produk EduChem.
