5 ★I can say this is significantly different from some of the more popular foreign language apps because it utilizes a conversational approach, as opposed to building vocabulary with random singular words and phrases. I'm enjoying it. Would definitely recommend!
5 ★What a great app! I took Spanish in school a long time ago so I don't remember a lot. I've been on and off other language apps for years and I just can't stick with them. They're boring and they either focus on stupid vocabulary or are way too advanced and I get lost. Jumpspeak actually asked me how much I already know and seemingly tailored the lessons because I feel like I understand just enough to be able to fill in the blanks while still learning more. I highly recommend. Worth the price.
2 ★I like the idea but it's flawed. The computer voice is terrible (I know they have better TTS technology out there) and the speech recognition is spotty. I'm learning Spanish and it will often tell me I said it incorrectly when my partner, who is native, tells me I am saying it correctly. Also I live in Spain and have been studying Castilian Spanish and this program sometimes doesn't recognize that accent. I wish there was a way to change the computer voice into a Castilian accent.
5 ★Jumpspeak is something I wished it existed for a while. I first tried out DuoLingo and didn't like it that much as it was lacking much of the real use cases. Then I tried Babbel for both italian and spanish and while I love Babbel, it lacks the quick lessons that I can find with Jumpspeak. With Jumpspeak, you can just start the app and go straight through a scripted conversation which you take part. Having traveled to quite some places, I must say real conversations are a very effective way to learn. I highly recommend Jumpspeak!

1 ★Tried to sign up for free. Used email, facebook and Google. All three said there was an issue. Later I realized in the description it said there was a subscription. In my honest opinion, if you want to be on par with or better than duolingo, do it for free. Just. Like. Them.
