Description
In English, the spelling of an English word does not always tell you how to pronounce or read this word and the same English letter or combinations of letters can be pronounced and read differently in different words.This is really challenging for non-native learners. But if you can read phonetic transcription, you’ll be able to pronounce any English word correctly without listening to its audio pronunciation.
This app offers you two activities:
The first, helps you get familiar with a widely used transcription system
(the Oxford variation of International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)) and the symbols it uses.
The second activity helps you practice pronouncing words or texts of your choice which you may find difficult to pronounce.
The app, of course, relies on the text-to-speech engine present in your Android devices.
If your device's language is English, you won't need anything to use it. if not,
then it may need to download some data from a google repository when you run it for the first time. But, Once you launch the app for the second time, it will need no internet connection.
Just like all the apps I distribute on Google's play store, and judging by the results I get with my students who use it, I am sure it will help you improve your English.
