VLC for Android™ plays most local video and audio files, as well as network streams (including adaptive streaming), DVD ISOs, like the desktop version of VLC. It also support disk shares.
All formats are supported, including MKV, MP4, AVI, MOV, Ogg, FLAC, TS, M2TS, Wv and AAC. All codecs are included with no separate downloads. It supports subtitles, Teletext and Closed Captions.
VLC for Android has a media library for audio and video files, and allows to browse folders directly.
VLC has support for multi-track audio and subtitles. It supports auto-rotation, aspect-ratio adjustments and gestures to control volume, brightness and seeking.

4 ★It is the best media player I have ever used in my device. No other player is compatible to it. Only one problem I noticed in it that is when we stream a video from network in it, it doesn't have video quality control. I wanna request VideoLabs to add the quality control feature in network stream.
5 ★This app is great. I downloaded a soundtrack but it was an .rar file. I tried it on my PC and the only program that worked was this. So I figured that there was a mobile app. And there was. Thank you so much. However, can you please add a volume control like the PC app. This would be great so I don't have to put the volume into the danger zone. The track is very quiet.

I have been using it for 5 years now for listening to lectures and just can't uninstall it ❤ But please, i have been asking for this since forever💔, please add a swipe feature in audio playing like that in video .. i want to be able to return back 10 secs without having to type the timing each time pleaaaaase💔💔
1 ★I just need an app to play music. This app plays good, sounds good, and has a very bad bug. I pick what album I want to play and it opens the playlist with EVERY track listed twice. So that it plays track one twice then it plays track two twice and so on. I use VLC on windows 10 but it looks like VLC cannot handle Android.
2 ★Don't know why is it started making that grr sound during playing of songs, no matter using headphones or listening through speakers. I think the problem is with decoding of audio files. You should improve its decoding performance.
1 ★Terrible. Hardly plays anything. Doesn't matter if it's AVI, MP4, MKV, nothing plays. And if by some miracle something DOES work, as soon as I try to cast it to my chromecast, it says it can't open the file again. Ridiculous.
3 ★I want to give it more stars but the "audio player" part is disappointing because it doesn't scrub (finger gesture) through the timeline, or adjust volume like you can when watching video. I specifically planned to listen to audiobooks for those features because it's easier to find my place again. Sadly, I have to look elsewhere until, hopefully, they add that feature.

4 ★Does not have the feature that I needed to continue using this app. VLC on my Linux box let's me view a video stream from my USB camera. I will stick with the media player that I have been using.

5 ★Incredible vídeo and audio player. It supports all kinde of formats and its performance is extremely reliable. Definitely five stars! I hope that in a future update the functionality of linking to our own cloud storage and play files directly from there it will be a reality. It would be 5 stars +.
1 ★Was decent for the most part until recently where landscape mode orients one way only. It can work if orientation is set to auto, but then it's so sensitive that it keeps switching from landscape to portrait. Extremely jarring especially when all other video apps I use work fine otherwise. Would have been a minor issue were it not for the fact that video is the core functionality of this app, and this issue makes it extremely uncomfortable to use at best, and downright obnoxious at worst.
