Description

Markers is a simple, multitouch, pressure-sensitive drawing app. Some of its features include:

  • Pressure sensitivity that works with most Android devices: As more of your finger or capacitive stylus touches the glass, Markers will draw a thicker line. NOTE: It may take a minute or two of continuous drawing for Markers to adjust to your device’s touch panel, so be patient! (If your device has an active stylus, like the Galaxy Note or HTC Flyer, the true stylus pressure will be used instead.)

  • Multitouch painting: Two fingers make two lines, three make three, and so on, up to the limits of your device (typically 5 simultaneous touches for phones and 10 for tablets).

  • Kid-friendly interface: Every pen size and color is on-screen; multitouch drawing means accidental touches (such as kid hands on the edges of the display) won't prevent any little fingers from painting.

  • Plays well with others: Share your drawings to other apps, and share images into Markers to draw on top of them.

  • [New in 1.2] Pan and zoom: By far the #1 most requested Markers feature! Tap the hand tool to switch into zoom mode; use one finger to scroll and two to zoom.

  • [New in 1.2] Adjustable brushes: Longpress a brush and drag to adjust the minimum and maximum widths.

  • [New in 1.2] Android 4.4 (KitKat) immersive mode: When you tap the Markers icon to hide the palettes, the status and navigation bars hide too; you can use the entire screen to draw. Tap the icon to show everything again.

FAQ
  • Why is my drawing all black when I save it to Gallery? — The drawing is actually on a transparent background, so you're seeing Gallery's black background through it. When you load it back into Markers or send it to another app, you'll see that the drawing is intact. If you'd prefer an opaque background, longpress on a color swatch in the palette to set the paper color.

  • What's up with the pressure sensitivity on my device? — See http://code.google.com/p/markers-for-android/wiki/DeviceSupport for known issues about individual devices.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is an APK File?

A: Just like Windows (PC) systems use an .exe file for installing software, Android does the same. An APK file is the file format used for installing software on the Android operating system.

Q: If I install an APK from this website, will I be able to update the app from the Play Store?

A: Yes, absolutely. The Play Store installs APKs it downloads from Google's servers, and sideloading from a site like ApkClean.net goes through a very similar process, except you're the one performing the downloading and initiating the installation (sideloading).
As soon as the Play Store finds a version of the app newer than the one you've sideloaded, it will commence an update.

Q: Why ApkClean.net can guarantee APK 100% safe?

A: Whenever someone wants to download an APK file from ApkClean.net, we'll check the corresponding APK file on Google Play and allow user download it directly (of course, we'll cache it on our server). If the APK file does not exist on Google Play, we'll search it in our cache.

Q: What are Android App permissions?

A: Apps require access to certain systems within your device. When you install an application, you are notified of all of the permissions required to run that application.

4 ★Easy to use
1 ★phaltu...of no use
4 ★This is a really awesome game, I love how they keep things simple with the tools. But the colors are very limited, and that makes things harder. A color wheel would be awsome, and an eyedropper even better. But this is other wise flawless! Edit: Feeling nostalgic, I decided to see if this still existed. I am so happy to find it here. This was my first experience with digital art, and it kickstarted an amazing three years of art development. Thank you so much for that.
4 ★By far one of the best ones out there. With little to no problems this app has become my favorite. I do have one request though. Can you please add two things. 1: can you please add in a rainbow wheel thing so I could have a larger variety of colors? That would be amazing. And 2: It sould be even better if you can add a feature where you click on the color and that becomes the color you use. If you could do that, I would love it, thanks!
5 ★While this app is very simple - 4 brush types, set color pallate, no layers, no redo - it does respond to pressure on devices without built-in pressure sensitivity as advertised. I haven't found anything like it elsewhere, even in paid apps. Definitely worth considering as at least a utility to use with other apps if you want to draw on a phone or tablet.
5 ★How I would describe this app: amazing, basic yet powerful, ad-free, great interface, full-featured and complete. The lines are really high-resolution without quantizing and also works great with S Pen. I was looking for simple drawing app and I love this. So, this is the one you want if you're looking for something simple, straight to the point and useful. Only thing I would change is add a color selection tool.
5 ★What I like most is being +Simple +Really free (No ads) +No suspicious permissions required. It is my daughter's favourite drawing app. She loads her worksheets to it (on her Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1) and uses the SPen to write, draw, and color then save them. I've two suggestions that may make it better: 1- Replace the Load menu entry with a toolbar icon (the same way like Save). 2- Enable Palm Rejection for Samsung Galaxy Note when the SPen is detached.
3 ★This is a pretty simple drawing app. The pressure sensitive controls work well and it's very easy for kids to use. Everything in the app is pretty easy for kids to figure out. There is a limited color palette and three levels of opacity just a click away. There are a few brush size options, each of which is oddly customizable. This customization is the weakest part of the app since the size is very difficult to set. This app is great for doodling and entertaining children.
4 ★My extremely talented daughter likes this app a lot. But, what we both feel is easy enough to fix. Simply put, MORE COLORS! Isn't that an easy fix? Please take into consideration, when you, the makers are reading your feedback. Thanks very much!
3 ★Markers is a good media painting app but falls short on brush resizing. It's far too sensitive when trying to adjust the low and high end of t the spectrum. Perhaps the developer can add the ability to adjust via numerical point entry. That would add a whole lot of user friendliness to this, otherwise, friendly app.
5 ★It is a little bit buggy on the Tegra note 7 and appears to be sharing memory with other art apps. Perfectly understandable because this tablet uses a different stylus system. I applaud the developers efforts he would do well to try one of these little tablets because of the incredible speed. I would like to see the Play Store implementing some of Jaron Lanier's theories on micropayments so that we could reward Daniel for his efforts even though he's not soliciting any reward.
5 ★Keeps it simple, clean UI, solid performance, no BS permissions... hard to believe this is an Android app! :-b And costless / ad-free too? Zang. Thank you so much, Daniel! You rock!
