Pembentukan
The Virgin terbentuk atas ide Ahmad Dhani. Berawal dari lagu "Cinta Terlarang" ciptaan Cameria Happy Pramita, salah seorang gitaris wanita di T.R.I.A.D yang secara tidak sengaja didengar Dhani pada Juni 2008. Dhani pun tertarik dengan lagu tersebut dan memiliki ide untuk merekamnya dalam sebuah album dan dinyanyikan secara duo.
Dhani yang merupakan salah satu juri ajang pencarian bakat Mamamia Show, kemudian jatuh hati dengan Dara Rizky Ruhiana, salah seorang peserta kontes dari Tasikmalaya. Saat mengomentari Dara, Dhani berjanji akan membawanya ke dapur rekaman jika Dara gagal di Mamamia. Di babak 8 besar, akhirnya Dara gugur dalam kontes. Dhani pun menepati janjinya dan memperkenalkan Dara dengan Mita. Akhirnya pada akhir tahun 2008, Dara dan Mita resmi membentuk duo The Virgin. Debut
Pada awal tahun 2009, The Virgin merilis singel perdana mereka berjudul "Cinta Terlarang" yang diciptakan sendiri oleh Mitha. Singel pertama mereka mendapat sambutan hangat pecinta musik Indonesia dan langsung melejitkan The Virgin ke jajaran grup terkenal. KapanLagi.com. Diakses 2 Agustus 2009 Pada tanggal 11 Juni 2009, The Virgin bersama beberapa band pendatang baru merilis album kompilasi bertajuk New Beginning 09 yang juga memuat singel "Cinta Terlarang". Melalui singel pertamanya ini The Virgin memenangkan 2 dari 3 nominasi Inbox Awards, yaitu sebagai "Pendatang Baru Paling Direquest" dan "Video Klip Terlama di Posisi 1", sementara nominasi untuk "NSP Terlaris" dimenangkan oleh Wali. The Virign kemudian menggelar tour pertama mereka di 16 kota di Jawa dan Sumatera. Album perdana The Virgin sendiri masih dalam proses penggarapan dan siap diluncurkan akhir tahun ini.Dan Kini, The Virgin Telah merilis Album Perdananya yang berjudul "Yes I Am" yang dirilis pada tanggal 23 Juni 2011.
