Abid Ghoffar bin Aboe Dja'far or better known as Ebiet G. Ade (born in Wanadadi, Banjarnegara, Central Java, 21 April 1954; age 63 years) is a singer and songwriter of Indonesian nationality. Ebiet is known for his songs with natural themes and grief of the marginalized group. Through his songs that are ballad genre, at the beginning of his career, he photographed the atmosphere of Indonesian life in the late 1970s until now. The theme of the song is diverse, not only about love, but there are also songs with themes such as nature, socio-politics, disasters, religion, family, etc. The touch of his music had pushed for renewal in the Indonesian pop music world. All songs were written by him, he never sang songs created by others, except the song Surat from Desa written by Oding Arnaldi and Wading through God's Blessings written together with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
