4 ★Despite the negative reviews and poor rating, I decided to give this a shot because USA Today crosswords are a favorite. I'm glad I did. Aside from some trouble with the in-app keyboard being a bit finicky, I rarely have issues with use of the app. The last couple days I haven't been able to get logged in though. It just goes back to the app and asks me to create an account. This means I've lost streaks and data that I like having. Pretty bummed because this is part of my daily ritual now.
2 ★Needs serious improvements. This game is very clunky. The interface needs to be more user friendly. It's difficult to navigate the grid as it doesn't always respond. Need larger touch areas to navigate to the next clue. Often when trying to navigate to the next couple one end up changing from across the down. Kind of frustrating to play the game. The game ignores the Android back button and exiting b the app is not possible from within the app itself. This app needs many improvements.
1 ★Used to love this app, but it logged me out of my account and I haven't been able to log back in for several months! I can't access the coins I amassed and it has not been recording my progress! I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times now and it still won't let me log in. Every time I try to log in via my fb it gives me a message saying "logout complete" and then asks me to create an account. Please fix!!!

2 ★Still disappointed. Still SLOWWWW!!! And somewhat lame...graphics and menus are more kid oriented and not adults. Also popup ads while pondering the clue, was also annoying. The refresh time from closing the ad and returning to the puzzle was so SLOW that I gave up and uninstalled. Plenty of other crossword puzzle apps with less ads and far more responsive
1 ★02/19/2020 update After probably 30 something days of streak, today all the sudden i cant log in anymore. Either a loophole that just boumce back to the sign in page or error 503 page. Im extremly upset the streak is broken because of the app issue. The problem i had before was the record doesn't save. If i open the daily crossword after i finished, the puzzle reset. If i finish the puzzle the second time (with shorter time), my record change.
2 ★This manages to be far less enjoyable than the clunky website it's meant to replace. No, I'm not paying to play yesterday's puzzle when it's on the web for free if i watch an ad. The built in keyboard doesn't always respond the first time it's touched. The top of the puzzle is at the very top of the screen with no border and I was constantly trying to scroll up thinking there was more to see. It works, but it's a poorly designed money grab. Edit: To the developers: it works, I just don't like it
4 ★Freezes on the initial loading screen. Can sometimes get lucky and have it successfully load after a few uninstall/reinstalls. I see many other reviews have reported this same issue since shortly after the last update, months ago. App appears to have been abandoned by whoever made this. Pretty sad to see since I consider this to be a great daily crossword puzzle... Update: app works great now. No issues since the recent update. Rating has been updated from 1 to 4 stars.
2 ★Came back to this app after sign-on problems were fixed. It has been working great for months. Until today. My badges all reset to show I have none. Came here to see there was an update available so I loaded it & now I get the initial advert, but the crossword never loads. It just spins & spins. Guess I'll try this app again in a few months...maybe.
5 ★Update: Whatever was done to fix the previous issues worked and I'm completely happy with it. It used to crash all the time, now it doesn't. It's not too hard and not too easy. I'll admit that I use the "cheater" mode where it will highlight if the word is right or wrong right away. I like that since I don't have tons of time to do a crossword puzzle during a day and it keeps the games under 20 minutes for me.
1 ★Very buggy. Tournaments do not open. App stopped opening after a few days. Overall, the app often was slow to respond and it appears that this has been an ongoing issue with no resolution by the developers. Unacceptable especially if you paid for a subscription.
1 ★Update: *Canceled Subscription* Now I cannot get the tournament qualifying puzzle to start. Doesn't seem like it's worth the subscription if you can't use it. Support closed ticket without resolution. Very buggy app with poor support. Looses player history, badges not awarded consistently, incorrect notifications, and laggy keyboard response. When defects are reported, no support is offered, simply a statement that they have been sent to the development team. App NOT ready for prime time.
