Quá trình hình thành và phát triển
· Ngày 07/9/2008 nhân dịp kỷ niệm 63 năm thành lập, Đài Tiếng nói Việt Nam chính thức phát sóng Hệ phát thanh có hình VOV đánh dấu một bước phát triển mới của Đài Tiếng nói Việt Nam.
· Năm 2011: VOVTV phát sóng 19 tiếng/ngày, từ 5h – 24h hàng ngày.
· Năm 2011: VOVTV phát sóng qua Internet trên VOV Online.
· Năm 2012: Quyết định số 871/ GP – BTTT ngày 23/ 5/ 2012 của Bộ Thông tin và Truyền thông cấp phép hoạt động truyền hình cho Đài Tiếng nói Việt Nam, Hệ Phát thanh có hình chính thức đổi tên thành Kênh Truyền hình VOV – Đài Tiếng nói Việt Nam.
Năm 2013: Kênh Truyền hình chính thức đưa vào hoạt động website http://vovtv.vov.vn phục vụ việc xem truyền hình trực tuyến trên Internet và phục vụ xem lại tất cả các chương trình đã phát trên sóng truyền hình do Kênh Truyền hình sản xuất.
Năm 2014: Đài Tiếng nói Việt Nam phát triển thêm Kênh Truyền hình Quốc hội, Kênh Truyền hình VOV chuyển định hướng phát triển nội dung chương trình theo hướng Tin tức – Giao thông – Giải trí.
