Description
Citizen of Rome - Dynasty Ascendant is a multi-generational family/Dynasty life sim set in the Ancient Roman Republic.You get to see how life was in the Ancient Republic, participate in their various customs, festivals and Ludi / sporting competitions, while raising a family and moving up in the social and economic hierarchy of Rome.
You can educate your children, marry them off, sponsor their elections and much more. You'll usually play as the eldest of your sons once your character dies.
The game is open-ended without a set endgame just like in real life, but a grand goal for any ambitious Roman family was to land a Consulship of the republic. This could be your goal in the game as well, climbing the Cursus Honorum and becoming a "New Man" - "Novus Homo"
WARNING: The game just like fate will beat you down from time to time and you might find all that you worked for being taken away from you in an instant, but the way things are set up you'll almost certainly end up growing wealthy and reach the Senatorial class at some point despite various setbacks. There is no game-over and life goes on no matter what
A core philosophy of the game is that just like in real life, there's no winning or losing, just experiencing life and having fun at it no matter where it takes you. The game should be fun in its own way at every level, no matter if you're a prole or a senator, but with things just playing differently and with different goals and challenges

4 ★Neat little time killer. could use more events and different ones. Maybe Controls sometimes sluggish. (e.g. can't click "next month" when the are character-related pop-ups, can still scroll background view when an event pops up, etc.). also, seem to have hit the pinnacle very quickly... 1m+/month income, 2m prestige, 3m influence, all my male characters have been consuls multiple times ... what's left to do?
4 ★This game is one of my favorites. There are some small errors I find annoying i.e. when I get large sums of inheritance it shows up but then disappears just as fast as it was given. I enjoy the historical accuracy (there are a few things that don't particularly match but it's accurate for the most part. Overall I reccomend playing it.
4 ★Excellent concept and very good execution. Would be good to add in more late game events such as military campaigns for military tribunes, praetors, and consuls. Also some kind of activities using the Senate or the Tribune of the Plebs to alter the legal and economic landscape would be good. Would also be cool to add in various religious posts that could be competed for. Also automating some tedious tasks like tracking education in a large family or property as stewardship shift via policies.
5 ★Entertaining Education I was skeptical at first about getting this but after giving it a chance I am hooked it seems like there would be a learning curve and a bit of an imagination, some knowledge of history this is a great game with excellent replayability. Some helpful ideas there should be a speed option for auto play it feels like it goes far to fast and the manual way feels far too slow.
2 ★It got boring really quickly. Seems like the stats don't really do much, and the events get old after a while. I also don't like how apprenticeship scales with your class, and still provides more or less the same benefits. There is a sense of progression for a while, but even in easy mode, the game is too tough.
4 ★Really good game, love the roman history but I would love to see a bit more actual politics, such as enactments and/or laws etc and the ability to choose the next paterfamilias because sometimes your firstborn son has terrible stats. Nevertheless, it is an overall a great game and well-executed product of a great idea.
4 ★Fun game. Very addictive. Only downside is constant popups for non-optionals. Why do I have to click to pay the tax everytime if I don't have a choice but to pay it? It make more sense to deduct the money automatically IMO.
2 ★Not really much to this game. The event trivia is interesting but after that events are pretty much worthless. They offer only tiny amounts of influence that you lose shortly after. Influence is a worthless commodity since you always lose it faster than you gain it. As cost of living goes through the ceiling you wind up skipping festivals altogether. Mostly you just live poor and plummet down the social ladder.
4 ★I'd give it 5 stars, but the game makes you fail elections almost every time and it gets awfully irritating. I'd love to see more options while campaigning rather than only three options. Also, you should add a census feature.
2 ★So the game used to be fun... but tbh idk what happened with the expenses... but its WAY too hard to keep up with the increase of household expenses. It's not enough time to make your revenue go up tbh. And also we need more descriptions for what were looking at. There should be a manual in the settings.
2 ★Could be better but you have to pay absurd amounts of money for every little action. And the prices only go up.
2 ★Game will make you want to pull your hair out at times. For example after I tried to participate in a horse race the game decided to tell me that my character cheated and got caught (without a decision from me) so I lost all my money and had to sell off half of my possessions to repay the debt and got a cheating character modifier which reduced the gold I earned from all of my my buildings leading to a negative monthly gold gain which lead to many other obstacles. Lost hours of progress.
