The old 2018 version codebase was in such state that it became impossible to add new features and eventually this version would have been removed from stores due incompatible android. The whole game codebase was redone (twice) and the new version now is the only one available. This lead to choices that were either "old version is lost forever" or "new version replaces it" and the "new version replaces" was the choice. Some of the classic features have been fixed in update 680 and please do keep giving feedback.
There's been requests for a "classic" version within Survive so emailing smokesignal@thesurvivegame.com with subject line "CLASSIC" can impact development plans.

Game can be played OFFLINE. If you have internet connection, then game will try send anonymized data about gameplay (things like "X number of people play game"). Please check out "for humans" privacy policy at thesurvivegame.com - Game never requires creating email account or giving your name or other information.
--- PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED ---
* IN-APP PURCHASES (IAP): You can buy full version, style pack and such. There are no "gems" or "ads" type of stuff.
* FULL NETWORK ACCESS: you can play offline, but if you play online game sends error/exception information about crashes. This helps fixing problems.
* VIEW NETWORK CONNECTIONS: To best of my understanding this checks if your device is online or offline.
* CONTROL VIBRATION: this can be toggled off in the settings. It's used only for in-game events (like if you catch a fish or something like that)
* OTHER WORTH MENTIONING: game stores "save game" files to your device so that you can save & continue game after playing. Should not require extra permissions though. Game does not read your phone files. It only reads game files and via settings screen you can see list of files that were created.

1 ★I've played this game since the begining and always end up coming back to it. I live the simplicity and it was great to kill some time with but now you have to buy the full game just to unlock the second starter item? It's sad when a good game goes bad becasue of greed.
2 ★Different This is the first word which you'll say once you play again after you played it the first time . They focused a lot on the realistic elements and made the game difficult at a point where is no longer enjoyable... After an 8 hours work shift, I used to play this to relax myself and have a lil bit of fun but now is just frustrating with the realistic difficulty and it just end up making your day worse in my case. But I used to love the old game tho...
5 ★I love this game. I always come back to it every few months because it is very thought provoking and ostensibly a reminder of how quickly things go wrong. Beautiful, simple art and graphics. Vivid sound design. They're always improving it, so give it a try.
1 ★I used to have this game on a previous account only now to find out you've locked out the secondary starter gear and some crafting options if it was just the starting resources I wouldn't care but this is just stupid no reason to lock options previously open just to force us buy the game if we want to reopen them
5 ★I really like the game and I've been playing it for a really long time now. Its tons of fun and I highly recommend it if you enjoy survival games. I think it would be cool if you were able to find others who are also playing the game, and then team up and/or start a civilization. I think it would be cool, but you dont have to add it as it would take a while.
2 ★Obtaining food from hunting, fishing, and trapping is confusing and way too difficult. I've tried numerous combinations of activities and still keep dying from hunger. Please include a tutorial or make food more intuitive.
3 ★Really fun game. Some animations for your actions would be nice. I want to buy the wolf edition, but I see that the developer hasn't updated since 2017. Hope you're doing okay. Any news of future updates and I'll buy it.
4 ★Pretty engrossing little time waster. Hunting needs to be tweaked Quite a bit (there's no reason a mostly dead baby deer should be able to escape a strong human w a hunting spear), but otherwise, definitely a keeper 👍
1 ★Zero stars if I could game sucks not realistic you can't find anything, animals are impossible to kill, crafting is glitched and doesn't give you what you need whole idea is awesome but, the game itself is sadly put together try and do something right please most reviews are fake sad on your part bro
5 ★I normally dont rate games but i have to say that this is a great game and the only complaints i would have is that there arent many craftable items or many maps Other than that this game is perfect and im loving it i hope theres gonna be more updates in the future:)
4 ★Great game and very addicting! It keeps you entertained for hours and hours. I just wish they could make the easy levels actually easy, it takes me so many hours to beat an "easy" level
2 ★This literally freezes my device completely as soon as it's opened. So I can download this, but it literally can't open at all. I am sure it's a great game though. Fix this!!!
