3 ★Reviews from January discuss poor AI ... and that still hasn't been updated. A tutorial would be very helpful, since some aspects of the game are unclear while playing (like the buildings you own ... took me for games to get the way they were labeled). In short, this is fine for a quick "do I like this game? " type purchase, but nothing more until a good tutorial and at least pass and play is added in. Supposedly the pass and play and better AI is coming.
4 ★I REALLY love this game. I even bought the board version because of this app. I can't give it 5 stars yet though because it crashes often toward the last raid in the game and won't let you finish it. By crash I mean you click the icon to advance the game and nothing happens. Fix this and this is easily 5 stars.
3 ★The latest updates seems to have fixed the bugs. But you can only play against AI and there isn't even a difficulty setting.
2 ★It's functional as a solo experience but needs local pass and play multiplayer to be a great app.
5 ★What I would like to see: Online multiplayer with asynchronous turns, a scorecard to keep track of your best scores, expansions, a player profile and achievements.
2 ★A fun, but flawed implementation of the board game. The app includes a copy of the rule book, but does not have a tutorial mode. This makes it a bit difficult to figure out the different phases of the game, and it took me a few play throughs to understand everything. The game comes with a copy of three of HP Lovecraft's stories including "The Festival" where this game gets its name from . The game is single-player only, although you can choose 2 to 4 computer players. There is no multi-player at all - either pass and play mode or over the internet mode. There are a few bugs: sometimes in the English version, Italian words pop up instead of English. Once, the game basically froze when I was forced to discard a spell because I had too many .Unlike the board game, there are no variant scenarios (even though the developer promised to add them a year ago). As of this writing, it appears that the developer has stopped updating this app. EDIT: I found that the app consistently fails to properly implement the "Cemetary" power (Spend 1 magic point to replace 1 resource) when expanding into a level 3/4 building.EDIT 2: The resource spells tend not to work properly.
4 ★Fun. Still a few issues with Italian showing in the English translation.
3 ★Fun euro style boardgame needs pass and play or online AI matches get boring
4 ★Runs fine on my old Galaxy Tab 10.1. UI is not very intuitive though. Rules included but no tutorial.
3 ★Only playable against computer opponents right now, and the UI is not the clearest I have seen lately.
