3 ★Good game. But it could be great. Been playing for a while. Over and overon iron mode. Updates dont do anything. All bug fixes. Why not transfer thecontent from Pirates and Traders 2 to GOLD? Id like to have a fleet ofships. I want to plunder towns. Heck I want to build my own town.
4 ★I feel the game is a great way to enjoy my free time. Its easy to play and the story can be interesting. I feel there is content in Pirates and Traders 2 that i wish was incorporated in to this paid version. Some of those things was the imagery used for clothing, customizing the look of your pirate with facial hair, head and face. Little features like customization make that much better for.
2 ★This game looks like Sid Meier's classic Pirates! ...but is is not. This game lacks the fighting action that made that game great. The ship to ship fighting and the swordfight sequences are simplified to a few button pushes that left me unsatisfied. Playing this game is like returning to a past love who has grown mean and ugly...(feeling sad)
4 ★The only real gripe I have is there is almost no way to get out of debt it seems. I took a small bank loan and now cant catch up! Also, I wished I could have more than one ship in my party to use or sell.
5 ★It's a challenging game and you need luck and skill to progress well. My only complaint is that dock boats are expensive and you could just take most of them thus making it pointless. Great buy.
2 ★Super fun and addictive when working properly. However on 2 separate occasions my save got "corrupted" and my game wouldn't open, causing me to lose all my character data and more importantly, the ship I had fought so hard to "requisition". I won't play if every time I progress I have to restart due to software problems.
5 ★Simple but surprisingly deep gameplay. Every choice - to attack or distance self, to trade in port A or risk time and food travelling to port B for potentially more money, to align with or attack certain nation's ships, etc - matter in this game. If you like history and/or are fascinated by the Golden Age of Piracy, this one's a winner.
4 ★Fun. Strategy. But confusing I have no complaints about the story or the controls. It is engaging, fun and addicting. The only thing I have problem with is crew level when attacking town. There is no information about what is your crew level or natives level compare to the defend side except numbers and neither is what the info about their leaders.
4 ★Good game What is the point of Portugal though? Peeps complaining about going bankrupt must be noobs. Buy gems north of Cuba, sell them in Havana. Mechanics are a bit off; gems are the only product worth trading past the first few months. Found an exploit where after sacking a town so that only the merchant's tab is available (plunder function), you can leave & come back for the next few turns before the town recovers. While the plunder function is still active, the town will buy goods at inflated prices Gets a bit pointless after gaining the Manilla Galleon: end game is weak if you're not IronMan; almost impossible if you are. No point in having more than 300k. Really looking forward to PT2 though. Will defs buy
5 ★Loved this game enough to pay for it! This is the only game I've found likethat and it us incredibly enjoyable. I've played through several times andit never gets old. Very relaxing and great way to spend time
5 ★This game is pretty difficult and that's why I've enjoyed it so much. I've had my character's killed, or hung, whatever, it's always because I took a chance instead of playing it safe. Like any form of gambling, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I'm not giving up.
5 ★Love it, i always get my Manila Galleon, do the free Honduras, but can NEVER find crown of Moctezuma quest. Is it only in certain ports it can pop up at?
