4 ★A very fun and well designed game, with great art and mechanics. The tutorials are very helpful, and its the best riichi style mahjong app on the appstore. The only criticism I have is that for a new user, not knowing what u need or want in your hand is hard. I would love an update that either added a "What am I missing in my hand" or "Han total right now" option. Even a beginner mode that gives hints or options of what to discard would also be helpful. Otherwise, amazing game and worth it!
5 ★If you're looking to learn how to play Japanese Mahjong, this is a great app to invest in. The tutorial explains the game pretty clearly and quickly to get you playing. The solo play is pretty good as well. I dont feel it is to difficult for people that are learning. A big thumbs up to the developer.
5 ★Fantastic for learning Japanese mahjong. Which as a longtime player of the Tianjin and Shanghai variants, is very foreign to me. But I love it and I love the animal people characters and the really concise UI. Edit: actually I do have a suggestion. You ought to add a tutorial for "mahjong strategy 101," and talk about the basics of defensive play.
5 ★Always wanted to learn to play Mahjong and this app has been very helpful. For a beginner who is using this app to learn to play it's been very clear. I like that the tutorial being segmented as it helped the flow and am enjoying that the fan guide is always available. I am also really liking the art and the music as they create a much better atmosphere compared to a game with no music and just voiceless names as opponents. Overall would very much recommend this to beginners learning to play.
3 ★Great app for beginners. Love how the scoring screen breaks down Fu calculation and allows you to look up yaku. BUT after playing around with it a bit, turns out I really don't like the "four bars" layout. Please consider adding a more classical look to the table, where the players sit in a circle and discard into the middle (e.g. compare Tenhou).
5 ★Not much more to say than great. The tutorials arent overly long, and tell you good information with some flavor text. The devs respond quickly if you contact them (contacted them on twitter to ask a question, they responded same day) and are very professional. Im only a beginner.. but this app is worth the money.
5 ★Excellent mobile version of Riichi Mahjong. The unique vertical format works beautifully on a phone and makes for quick games you can jump into. Currently no multiplayer but the dev appears to be working on it and I look forward to hopefully playing against both human and AI players. If you have never played, the tutorials help to guide you through the basics if the game and explain many of the less-obvious rules. If you enjoy Riichi Mahjong, this is a solid way to play a solo game any time.
4 ★If there's one thing I think a mahjong app needs these days, it's an option for online multiplayer. Unfortunately, while this app is fun, and the AI is generally well done for a mahjong game, the lack of such a functionality hurts its value as anything more than a convenient practice tool when you have nothing better to do.
5 ★Great game with really good tutorials. Was able to quickly adapt my knowledge of the Chinese style of play and felt comfortable after going through some of the tutorials and a full game. Well done. Plays well on my Galaxy Tab A from a few years ago.
5 ★I'd be lying if I said I've tried other Mahjong apps, but after getting hooked on Mahjong thanks to Yakuza 0, this app is pretty much the same experience. Very well made, has learning resources built in as well as a hand guide you can access mid game And you can pretty easily play it one handed, which isn't something I would think to look for in phone games but I'm surprised how much I appreciate it here and I mean, you get to play Mahjong with cute furries, 10/10
5 ★Cute furries! The voice acting is a nice touch. And the tutorials and hints are top-notch, a great app for anyone wanting to learn to play Riichi with friends. Plus, no ads? It's a dream come true. This is a perfect app.
5 ★Kemono Mahjong is excellent for learning Riichi mahjong. it doesn't help you out much, so you mostly learn by experience. The AI is pretty good and diverse in playstyles. The stats are useful, too. The game has run flawlessly since I got it in 2018. No crashes or bugs as far as I can tell. Wholeheartedly recommended!
