1 ★This game was fun for about a year after it launched, then it started churning out watered down “content ” with steep price tags. Yes, the game is 100% playable without spending a dime, though you're essentially paying them in time just to grind and slog through a match 3 game with arguably minimal strategy required. I played it for multiple years, just about everyday in order to collect daily rewards and I never once placed in the top reward tier of “PvP”. Gotta pay up for those shields!
1 ★The new UI fixes weren't really fixes at all. The colors are a little better, but it's still hard to distinguish the black tiles from the background and spider tiles are difficult to distinguish as well. The charged tiles swelling is okay when you don't have a ton of them, but you can't tell what color is what when there are many. And for the love, WHY DOES IT HAVE TO DIM ON THE ENEMY TURN?! It's the absolute worst part of this new UI. Even toned down, it's still hard to follow to strategize.
3 ★The images that flash up on the screen are extremely slow. In the harder battles it becomes incredibly annoying to look at a bunch of stills that pop up over and over again as the enemy seems to have unlimited power ups. EDIT: Developer pointed out you can toggle animations off in the settings. I bumped the rating from 2 to 3 stars. Animations could be a nice touch if the timing on it was better or had more than a static image. I think i am still feeling the fatigue of mobile game grind.
5 ★This is a great game! It is a long term time investment (unless you want to spend a lot of cash) to build up your characters, but that is part of the fun. Been playing for almost 5 years now.. and I'm still committed to my daily missions. Recent changes have made it a bit easier to get new characters. 👍 Would be cool if there was an option to pick between 2 choices when doing a Latest Legends pull though. Please add ISO-8 usage options!!!! I have over 1 Million and nothing to use them on.
3 ★This is a matching game with a layer of character collecting and very, very simplistic interactive fiction spliced between the levels. At first I was impressed with the game play but after a short time it has become too repetitive. I'm collecting and selling the same few characters over and over with the most variety being at a level too high for free play. Also there is a forced guild/team play aspect that I really do not like at all. When I play a game on my phone it's a quick, casual game. I don't want to have to coordinate with other players. Not sure how much longer I'll be playing this game.
4 ★Love this game and have been playing it for years, but the new UI is awful as many have said. Difficult to discern when meters are full, dimming during enemy turns makes things difficult to track, and special tiles are often impossible to see. I would go back to a 5 star review of we were able to toggle back to a "classic" layout. Hope the developers read any of these reviews!
2 ★Great game, but they've made a lot of missteps. They've corrected nearly all the GUI issues from before, but now they've changed certain events where only specific characters can be used. This shuts everyone from progressing in the game unless they've collected and leveled up the required characters. It may be an attempt to make people pay money to purchase the required characters. I have no issue spending money on a game that I enjoy, however I don't like the idea of pay to win.
5 ★There is a learning curve at the onset but, once a player begins to grasp the concepts involved, it is entertaining. Strategy and planning are crucial. It would be helpful if hero spaces were easier to open. Also, the ability to convert multiple unused covers of the same type into team ups rather than iso would be great. Enjoy.
1 ★Greed level over 9000! The two newest characters are required for 2 events. One of the characters, Prof X (Classic) you've had no chance to obtain except through $$$$ >and< pure luck. The recent update had massive server issues and what was given in response was maybe $2 worth of stuff and the "opportunity" to spend $$$ on a "limited time package!" I've spent $$$ on this game but it has gotten way too greedy and is pay to win now.
4 ★Great game! Much better than I had anticipated, especially since im not a fan of these puzzle making games. A couple suggestions though: 1) Add the ability to save certain team comps, and the ability to add notes (on how you play that comp or whatever notes you want). 2) Add more bundle packs rather than just ISO and HP. 3) Option to turn off the matching suggestion during gameplay. 4) Add more things like the Prelude. I actually really enjoyed the story... even if it was simple.
3 ★This is a fun game when you start, but after a few months you keep getting the same lower ranked characters. Even after spending a significant amout of money it is very difficult to rank up 3, 4 or 5 star characters. The algorithms in this game really makes the game redundant after time because of the same 2 star characters. I wish they made getting other characters more balanced. It would really be great to have only 3, 4 or 5 star characters in certain vaults to insure ranking!!!!
4 ★Very fun, different powers, lots of levels and ways to spice things up! I've been playing for years and have over 100 covers. The only rough bits are that after a certain point, the in-game currency does nearly nothing. I have over 12 billion and rarely have anything to do with it, as there's no market or anything to spend it on except for the occasional upgrade, which become less frequent as you level up and get less covers that you can use.
