► Quality Predictions
SkyCandy uses a hyperlocal forecast to predict the chance of a beautiful Sunrise or Sunset based on known weather conditions that favor a beautiful sky at that magical time. Keep in mind that a high score (such as 80%) means that there is a very strong possibility Sunset will be beautiful, but it not a guarantee. The reverse is also true.
► Sun Direction Tool
Using the Sun Direction Tool, drop a pin anywhere on the map to know exactly which direction the Sun will be at any time, any date, and any location. Great for photographers that are scouting a photo shoot location and want to know what direction the Sun will be in when they are taking photos.

4 ★Installed and am on free 7 day trial. Looks useful. Will update review in a week. What follows are initial impressions. On first opening it hung when trying to find my location. I chose gps mode and even tried opening Google Maps first. I'm at home, so my phone should know where I am! Version 2.2.2 'running' on a Nexus 5x on Android 8.1 Developer responded very quickly. Asked me to try in manual mode which works. I like the 5 day forecast / multiple location premium feature - it'll be interesting to see how much the forecast varies. When I tried to search for a new location in 'My Photo Spots' that the search bar for uses white font on a white background,.. Comparing two locations on the coast here in Australia about 200km apart the forecasts are different enough to appear plausible.
1 ★just utterly useless. "Unable to contact server. Please try again later". This is constant. I delete it & download again - exactly the same. works on iPad - NOT android. Rubbish, has let me down 100% when out with camera. Response to developer: I'm sorry you don't think the review is "helpful" to anyone but it's an honest review - what do you want me to say? Your servers are not responding 99% of the time making the app unreliable (Android A5). Others say similar. Edit: 6 months on still same.
1 ★WAYYY too expensive for the monthly especially when the accuracy is far less than the supposed 75% accuracy rate they claim.l..more like 30 to 40 percent. I'm sure the makers of this app will claim "oh yea weather data is expensive, yadda yadda yadda".. reminds me of cellphone companies in the 2000s that raped their customers on minutes and long distance calling.. when all along they could have been taking care of the customer out of the gate.... STAY AWAY until this app works on these issues
2 ★I only used the free version, but I moved. It wouldn't update to my new location: instead telling me I can update once a day and can try again tomorrow. I also very much remember one day being 90% good skies an 90 minutes before sunset turning into 0% 10 minutes before sunset. It was OK other times but just OK.
1 ★I gave it a year and checked it pretty much every single day and it has not been right once. missed so many amazing sunsets in Scotland as it said %18 chance when it turned out to be the most amazing sunset. don't waste your storage. just go out there and take a chance.
3 ★Excellent app when its working properly. Unfortunately after I signed up for the free 7 day trial the app stopped displaying information. Then when I tried to log the issue, it kept failing. I'm really disappointed because I was really enjoying the app and sunrise info.
5 ★I find this app especially useful for determining the quality of sunrise. Sure, you can reference a cloud map, but that's still not going to tell you everything you need to know for an epic capture. This is one more tool in my arsenal to get that once in a lifetime shot.
1 ★Have had this on my phone for nearly a year with a subscription... But having to delete it. Even with the app closed and the settings turned off it is pulling down data. I am not comfortable with this and it is costing me.
5 ★Very handy app for predicting sunrises/sunsets! Pretty accurate most of the time but of course every once in a while the weather changes. Not much they can do about that!
5 ★I am a plein air artist. Being aware that the forecast of beautiful sunsets can be tricky, Sky Candy has turned out to be particularly helpful to me. I can better plan painting, in oils, evening landscapes for more dynamically color filled camvases!
2 ★This app says the opposite of all the other apps. 20% sunrise here is 90% on others and vice versa. Never once in months of using been right. Also forgets I'm premium half the time and fails to load my location so I have to force close
5 ★I have the free version and I would say its pretty accurate. I live in the woods so I also have to keep an eye out through the trees and take a drive but I pay more attention to the sky when it gives a good number. Good app so far.
