3 ★Problems with Bluetooth auto connect since update
2 ★Great app when connected, but it only connects or stays connected 40% of the time. It will show a different song, than what is actually playing. It has become frozen and doesn't advance screen even as the music playing. Sometimes I give up because it doesn't seem to be able to connect. The receiver always connects and plays, but the app is lagging. Too bad.
1 ★Installed this app to control a newly fitted SPH 10dab but its terrible. Even the instructions don't display properly and won't scroll down ! Instructional videos on YouTube from Pioneer themselves don't seem to have any relation to this app version. I thought I could add additional music apps as buttons but can't see how. It would also be nice be able to customize the home page and add additional app shortcuts as you do with many of the car launcher apps but no your stuck with what's there.
4 ★***See below for edit**** The app was great before this update. I can't customise the screen with a photo no speed indication (The gps speed is more accurate in my older car), and the layout is poor. Make the previous version available. ***EDIT*** Thank you for bringing back the original home screen with with the ability to customise the layout. 100% better👍 Can I ask that you centralise the Rew/play/FF functions as they.loom a tad out of place on the left hand side. Thank you😎👍
4 ★Raised the stars again after pioneer reverted some of the features they thought was a good idea to remove. Not sure why they are small now tho? Works well and has usefully features. My only gripe is the safety warning that comes up every time it connects which you have to touch the phone to turn off. If that was once when the app started, or once a day, or had a voice command to clear it, fine. But when you are doing a lot of small trips it gets tedious, and counterproductive to actual safety.
1 ★If you are like me trying to use USB to control your head unit, but only get the audio out of your phone then give up if your android version is greater than 7. Google deprecated AOA audio routing. Pioneer must know this, but don't seem to want to admit this in any material they now publish. As such the USB control for Android on any phone in the last few years is quite useless. It's Bluetooth or Aux for us. Thanks Pioneer for wasting my time. Thanks Google for screwing all of us who use AOA.
2 ★Perfect example of good hardware + atrocious app combo. The app controls the head unit just fine, but otherwise has a horrible UX: there is no pause/play button in dashboard mode (the old version paused when you tapped on the album art), the music mode is just plain pointless (especially when you are using spotify, no album art, nothing). it is impossible to disable the "app" audio source, yet the audio quality is worse than BT. the app pointlessly tells you every time it loses the connection to the headunit, even when you simply just pull the key from the car. each time a connection is made, you have to agree to a wall of text that warns you of dangers. half of the buttons cannot be moved. the UI is a tasteless mixture of colors and version 3 removed all themes except the most horrible one.
4 ★Love the app, it works like charm as mentioned in the portal or play store. So far I had issues couple of times while connecting to the app, otherwise all good. I am would like to give 5* but couple of missing things making me to give 4*'s only. It would be very good to have more apps in Navigation like Tomtom Amigo/ Go apps. And more importatly it would be much more nice to have Android Auto app also as an option in navigation so that I can still use the all the Android Auto app features while using the maps. Alternatively please allow the users to add different navigation app's of their choice.
3 ★Love the idea of integrating my phone into my radio as touch screen/nav/music player but the last of those three is what caused me to give it 3 stars instead of 5... I'm not sure why but a lot of my songs don't show up on the built in media player, doesn't matter whether they're mp3 or flac (though I suspect it's mostly the latter as lot of my songs are VERY high bit rate/studio quality). It has no issue playing them over bt audio so not a massive issue but annoying none the less.
3 ★Thankfully Pioneer have listened and sorted out that god awful UI. The app is now much, much better but for one thing... getting it to actually connect each time. Sometimes it does straight away, fantastic, but more often than not you have to fart around getting it to connect. If they could sort this I'd give it 4/5 stars.
2 ★The app won't connect to the stereo half the time. I've tried all of it: the Bluetooth app, Bluetooth audio, and Spotify. It tells me to retry or that the connection failed. Other times it connects automatically. I can't figure out how to fix it, and there's no firmware update either.
3 ★It was amazing till i got my new phone galaxy A12 only when connected to my DEH-S6220BS Pioneer radio does my music skip like a scrached cd with progressive scan.. wont miss words but freezes up. Before i switched phones this never happened nor does it happen with any other reciever. This is only one that uses smart sync.
