4 ★Love the game. I'm a long time fan. I've got to say the only two things I would improve is: Diamonds are gained from buying, but it'd be great to earn diamonds over time as well. Secondly, the direction pad is a joke. It should be an adaptive control pad, because if you play for an extended period, your screen gets warm and slippery; and doing precision moves becomes impossibly unpredictable and unreliable. Otherwise, I've loved MapleStory since it was released way back in the day!
5 ★decent. not as big as the pc version. Maplestory 2 is also available and has very few requirements as far as computer compatiblity, unlike many games which are only suitable for new, optimised computers/gaming rigs. all three games are adorable, but Maplestoy 2 by far is the most enticing; as it is well made, 3 dimensional, and could probably even run on a pc from 2005 while stilo being massive. On the topic of this game though, it has most of the original classes.
2 ★I used to play this on PC when 200 was the max level (I have 6 level 200 and was at the top 10 in my server then). I couldn't keep playing due to life reasons and I was looking forward to playing this game on my phone but..it doesn't support mobile controllers! It's too hard to play with touch screen buttons :( Hopefully, it will support controllers in the future.
4 ★I don't know why my rating didn't update. I bumped it up a star because it's significantly smoother, auto play doesn't jolt my character across the screen, it has a toggle. No more jumping in one spot trying to get to the next platform, I have all 4 arrows on the display. Just wanted to say I noticed. Only one, because I used to be able to get super picky on character style. Now the nice ones are at random like a gacha game... that's a step that costs.
5 ★Edit: linking facebook to the game works, but not google play for me. Now i can actually rate this properly. The game is fantastic, though it IS hard for me to use the controls at times due to there being that joystick-like control in the middle. Perhaps an option to have just the directional buttons and would be a good idea if its not already in the game. Besides the small movement control issue i really enjoy the game.
2 ★It started me on the Forest of Endurance and forced me to complete it before I could do anything else. But it was so laggy that I was unable to do so. I would either run too far before it would register my jump or I would jump and not run anywhere. I used to love Maple Story on my PC, but the mobile app needs some major improvements.
3 ★If you grew up playing Maple Story and I'm talking about when it only had four different types of classes and the max level was 100 and Tiger was the top player this may not be the same game you're expecting. It has changed and it is different. I suggest you give it a try and see for yourself. I've played for about 20 minutes and I can already see the difference and things that I don't like. I get that it's a mobile game and it wants to throw you into as soon as possible but there's nothing to work for. The thief class starts you out as a night lord right from the beginning. Wheres the grind? I remember getting the third job advancement and thinking I've hit a mile stone in my life. It's a different game for a different demographic. If you're old school stick to PC maple story. If you're new try this out and if you like it make the switch to pc.
3 ★Being forced to begin autoing every quest was very frustrating. After toggling it off once it should remain off unless turned back on. Movement also felt a bit clunky, but it's something I would probably grow accustomed to if I played the game longer. The over the top skill animations aren't my cup of tea, but that's purely my personal preference.
5 ★One of the best games in the App Store! It has tons of content; familiar, nostalgic content, along with plenty of new game mechanics and side quests. My one bone to pick is that I wish the monsters still had the "chase" function from the computer version. The chase function made the monsters scary and the game challenging. In the mobile version, it's just farming non responsive critters. I miss feeling the terror of being followed by buff orange mushrooms who would hop across the map tohuntyou!
2 ★Needs an option to turn off fall prevention on platform edges. (Sometimes dropping off the ledge is something a player might want to do.) Needs the ability to crouch and jump down through platforms. (Again, this is a feature that players will expect in a platformer like this ) Needs the ability to move left and right in midair after a standing jump. (Not game-breaking but it would make things feel less stiff.) Fix at least the first two issues and I'll try it again.
3 ★MapleStory M is an impressive smartphone port of the popular MMO. The game runs smoothly and captures the essence of the original. However, it disappoints with a flaw that prevents logging in with a Japanese SIM card, causing progress loss. This issue needs urgent attention to provide a better experience for international players. Overall, a solid adaptation, marred by a significant accessibility problem.
1 ★This new system where CP is glorified hasn't helped anyone. What it has done is create more vacant maps and flood starforce maps with bots... creating situations where multiple parties are on one map, defeating the purpose for being there. The difficulty for being a new player has increased exponentially, which makes it discouraging to continue. This effects current players as well. With the ridiculous amount of upgrades and low success rates, how can anyone enjoy or afford to "play" this game?
