Description

This DM tool makes building a campaign easy and takes a lot of the hassle of out of running a game so that you can focus on more important things.Combat TrackerRoll initiative, track hit points and conditions, view monster stat blocks, and roll attacks, all in an easy to use interface. Encounter BuilderQuickly put together an encounter, including one with randomly generated enemies. The encounter analyzer calculates the difficulty so that you won’t accidentally TPK the party.
Creature Builder/ScalerEasily create a new creature or modify an one. Specify a few stats, such as challenge rating, ability scores, hit dice, etc… and the app will auto generate the rest of the numbers and text for you.
DM ScreenThe rules reference view lets you quickly look up rules, tables, etc. This view is completely customizable and can even include links to external websites.
Campaign ManagerSplit your campaign into adventures, each with their own sets of characters and encounters. Also keep notes and a treasure items that you can send out to your players.
Dice RollerAll of your stats and attacks can be rolled with a tap of a button. Also included is dice calculator that allows you to input a custom roll. Need to roll 1d20 + 6d9 + Constitution modifier? Game Master has what you need.
CompendiumA customizable compendium of content that by default includes all of the races, classes, backgrounds, feats, equipment, spells, and the monsters from the System Reference Document 5.1. This does not contain all of the official content from the books so you'll have to input any missing. To make adding easier, there is an Import feature through which you can type/copy content on your PC then transfer the file into the compendium. Fan made files are also available for download, so search online.
Fight Club IntegrationPlayers using the Fight Club 5th Edition app (available on Android and iOS) can send their characters to you in the form of an importable file so you can quickly include them in any campaign.
CompatibilityThis app is designed to be played with D&D 5e, but many elements of it can be used for other tabletop RPGs, such as D&D 3.5e and Pathfinder RPG. And of course, because everything can be completely customized, any homebrewed content is also possible.
Premium Version The app is free to download, but you are limited creating a single campaign with one adventure and up to three encounters. Upgrading to the premium version with the in-app purchase will remove these restrictions.

5 ★[Edit] Apparently I accidently archived the note, sorry. I'll leave this review as is in case anyone else does the same thing. Really like the app but there seems to be a problem with saving. I had been writing a note in an adventure over a few days. It seemed to save fine as when I exited & entered the app everything was there. But just now I pressed the back button and my note was gone. Very annoying.
2 ★I'm not sure what's going on but I spent an hour yesterday adding encounters to an adventure and when I opened the app this morning, everything I added was gone. now that i think about it, it's happened a half a dozen times before but it was only a single encounter disappearing so i thought I just had forgotten to hit 'add' at the end. otherwise, the app is fine. would like to be able to add NPCs that have standard Stats, and not monsters.
3 ★Absolutely amazing... When it wants to be. It was working fine for me for awhile, but inputting monsters one by one became far too tedious. So I found a way to import based upon coding written on the computer, making the process more streamlined. However I found that then going back to trying to put something in one by one resulted in many crucial things not being saved. Even after uninstalling and undoing everything it's still fails to save. So this is great ... if you only use the basic book
4 ★This is a great app! My only complaint is that there is no companion app on desktop. Planning and running a session from the phone is a bit of a hassle and preventative for making full use of this app. I really want to use this app all the time if that happens. I'd even pay for it. Is there any plans for a desktop version or a web platform?
5 ★Extremely useful app. I'm just beginning to get the scope of what it can do and it's going to make GM'ing combats so much easier. For any non-SRD material you'll need to download a compendium (free and easy to do). Gone are the days of keeping three sourcebooks open just to figure out how this one monster does the things it does, while also having to keep track of conditions, hit points, etc. Once properly set up, you can find everything you need to run a monster (spell descriptions and all) one tap away on the Encounter page. You can also add easily referenceable notes to the combat, so you don't forget things like 'one of the beetles is glowing green' etc. There's also a section for treasure, and the brilliant folks who've already generously uploaded their compendiums have already stocked it full of all the mundane and magical items from the books. Best app purchase I've made so far.
4 ★Definitely the best GM assistant app by a large margin. I love the organization of Campaign > Adventures > Encounters, each with their own sets of NPCs, Notes, and Treasures. Some feature requests I would like to add is automatic backup of data to, let's say, my Google account so that I don't have to manually import/export my data. Another feature would be a sort of web app counterpart so that I could edit the campaign with the ease of a keyboard. Keep up the great work! 🙌
4 ★I really enjoy this app, it would be a 5 star review except that for some reason the android version doesn't have all the same information values or compendium search filter options that the apple store app does. If only this version could use filters to search monsters, spells, etc and if only the items had the information field showing whether they are common, uncommon, legendary etc. Then it would be 5/5. I hope that comes in future updates.
3 ★Great app, not enough compatibility with Fighting Club 5. E.g: Want to create a new item within an ongoing campaign? Ideally, I could create it in my compendium, then share that item with relevant party members. Instead, I have to have each affected PC add it on their own. It would be easier if each compendium item had a share option, like adventure treasure items do. Also the sharing should all be within the apps instead of by email. Maybe by using accounts to sign into the app or something.
2 ★I got this because I had a great experience with Fight Club 5E. Game Master 5E is a good concept, but it definitely needs some polishing. The current setup is very limiting on how you plan your campaign and really only lets you plan encounters and a basic story plot. Overall the interface is pretty scattered, and it's difficult to actually run a session off of. I would honestly reccomend a pen and paper over this. It needs a major overhaul to fix all of this.
3 ★fantastic tool for all DMs. The encounter and initiative tracker is perfect! I am super excited to implement this in my games becuase of how awesome it is. I knocked off a couple of stars because it takes a bit to get used to it, but the biggest thing is that it doesnt support traps. If Lion's Den reads this, I hope you guys can make a quick update so that you can throw traps into encounters. If not, I hope to see it implemented in the future
5 ★Great too for DMs. Allows you to upload pictures for reference (maps, portraits, scenery). It has a really fantastic encounter/initiative tracking tool, like better than the improved initiative online tool...it's really good. Easy to organize your campaigns by splitting it down into adventures and splitting adventures into encounters. The only way I could imagine this being better would be to integrate some random table rollers and some ambiance tools for music and/or sound effects.
5 ★Beautifully made and wonderfully functional. The app has some quirks (it only "saves" once you close the editor, so you can't alt-tab/swap active apps whilst inputting data), but the biggest concern I have is that it can hang when accessing parts like the Compendium. I've had it crash a couple times, though restarting my device seems to resolve it.
