2 ★App is always lagging. Web access is much better. Favorites don't always transfer between web and app. Find myself using web more than the app. Kind of defeats the purpose. Considering that a fee is payed for best access, I expect to have better availability. I just renewed but actively looking for a different app for the future. Like I said web access is pretty spot on but if you're planning on relying on something more portable using the app, I'd say keep looking.
2 ★The tabs are ok, but if you play one of the youtube videos inside the app, good freaking luck trying to pause or close that video. It's like a bad carnival game you cant win. I expect better UX from an app that costs this much. Update 2023: I saw an ad for a discount and tried to subscribe. I was charged the wrong price & when I reached out to customer support they told me to "purchase it using my PC". What?? The whole transaction was through the app. I just cancelled it.
4 ★Used this app for several years now. Had 30+ shots I put on here. Then, one day, I can't access my shots anymore. Tried updating the app, Uninstalled it, then installed it again... nothing... now it pissed me off enough. I want to get rid of it all together, but I already paid my subscription. Cant access my profile to cancel my payment either and no way to contact help support. Very disappointed
4 ★Great app, I got the year subscription and it's helped me learn a lot of guitar. I've only been playing for a few months and a lot of people seem impressed when I tell them. And it'd thanks to this app. My only complaint is on yhe phone app here the very bottom of every tab is cut off, and when using smart scroll the lyrics and chords get blacked out. Hoping they fix it soon, there's no issues like that on the pc version though. (4 stars due to minor bugs)
1 ★I have been using Ultimate Guitar since 2009 and have been a pro member nearly as long. I haven't been able to add songs to my favorites for at least two years but now it won't even load any songs at all. The app is completely unusable and since they no longer support a browser option that means the end of an era :(
4 ★It's pretty good, it's a bit more expensive than I want for the bonus stuff but overall pretty good. My main issue with it is that it takes forever to load and opens up the app double if that makes sense, and it gets really weird and confusing. Might be a glitch but I'm not sure. Also when I use a count in sometimes the music doesn't play, and vice versa.
2 ★Very expensive and has an incredibly intrusive UI. It's always trying to shove things in my face like it's social media or something. I paid for lifetime access many years ago with a very low cost, but I don't think that's available anymore. Since I have access, I will occasionally use the app, but I can't recommend it as a recurring subscription. Just go onto the website.
3 ★Was loving the app, but recently there's an escalating amount of pop ups and the app badgering you to turn on notifications, pay for subscription, and it's really taken away a lot of enjoyment of opening the app. I'm starting to open other apps instead like guitar tuna or chord.ai. I'm just trying to play music and enjoy myself, not get frustrated clicking X on a barrage of pop ups.
1 ★Recently started "playing media" in the background when not actually doing so, taking up phone resources and creating a fake "playing" screen on my watch, which blocks the actual media controls for what I'm listening to. I almost hesitated to uninstall, but then remembered I can just look up the tabs on my web browser. Easy uninstall.
4 ★I've used it pretty much everyday for the last two years. It's a great resource for learning songs and I enjoy it a lot. Recently, after the most recent update it seems that tapping on the tab to go to a specific bar or beat is unresponsive. I find it extremely difficult to go back to a specific part. It's impossible to do so while the playback is playing as well.
1 ★I've been using and contributing to UG for over a decade, it has been an invaluable resource for musicians and the amount of goodwill they have built up over the years is immeasurable. And they spent every last penny of it on this app. I've yet to even look at a tab or chord sheet in this app yet because of the insane number of questions it keeps asking me. Every time I think, "that has to be the last page", it pulls up another! It's endless and I'm done. So long, and thanks for the fish.
1 ★Could be so much better. Missing lots of quality of life improvements like zooming out/manual panning on tabs and chords. Searching for ultimate guitar tabs in browser opens Google play, and not the already-installed app. Landscape mode hides most of the tab/chords/lyrics. Using Smartview on a Samsung TV doesn't show enough of the tab to effectively work with other musicians to practice covers. Song titles must be searched exactly word for word or they won't be found.
