Fabricabrac permet de jouer avec les collections de la BnF, d'inventer et de réaliser ses propres créations. Cette appli est destinée aux plus jeunes, et aux autres aussi !En puisant dans une sélection d'éléments à positionner, agrandir, réduire ou retourner, l'enfant imagine son animal fantastique, et crée par exemple une chimère à tête de cerf, corps de cygne, queue de poisson et ailes de dragon. Il peut aussi inventer son pays imaginaire, en plaçant montagnes, îles, fleuves, villes et habitants sur le fond de carte de son choix. À moins qu'il ne préfère manipuler des alphabets imagés pour créer une affiche ou une invitation. Dernière étape : donner un nom à sa création, ou même lui associer une fiche plus complète, avant d'imprimer ou envoyer son œuvre à ses amis.
Des notices rédigées spécialement pour les enfants prolongent la découverte des documents utilisés.
